Looks good, should work well with your port timings.

Well I had a chance to mess with this scoot a bit today. Didn't make much progress tho. It seem to stumble over itself at 2/3 throttle and cut in and out at wot. I went from 140 to 160 on the main and it just bogged and smoked more. Worked my way back down to 130 and it went back to just cutting in and out a wot. I also raised the needle one slot. I don't think its fuel delivery, but when I get more time I am going to install the clear fuel bowel just to be positive. From idle to half throttle it runs good, I think the pilot jet(45) is good. Air screw is 1 turn out.
I also swapped out the plug cap with a genuine kymco(stock)cap.
I swear the way it acting its ignition. I have a another stator, new coil, another CDI iv thought about swapping out, but before I do those radical swaps I am going to go back and check all my electrical connection. Also going to dig out the timing light and see if I am loosing spark at high revs.
Stumped at the moment, but seeing riding season is almost over here and I also hear a ticking sound from the engine on acceleration and deceleration revs but not at idle, I think the big end on the rod may have damaged from when I had the coolant leak.(will get vid of that too) There a few vibration noises I need to track down too.
Will get some vids up tomorrow.

Rats! Was hoping to see ya ripping by now. This LC conversion stuff is a bit complicated. I better stick with the AC stuff cause I don't know if I have the patience you guys have.

oldgeekMe too. I was hoping my running problems from before were from being over carb-ed and carb quality(oko). 190mechThats what my instincts think, but I could be wrong. I was also thinking maybe the port design might not be favorable, but the peugeot case design(side intake) is the same as the kymco's design.(apples to apples) I was thinking there might be a breathing issue. Sucks because I have several projects going on at the moment. Old school chain saw. $5 swap meet special. Missing fuel lines(prob disintegrated)and diaphragm in carb are all dry and hard. Husqvarna riding mower. Engine seized(didn't rotate by hand) Mower deck PTO clutch bearing locked up and then there was this. Plus mower has other issues. MTD(clone engine) Needs new piston & rings but need check cylinder. Has decent ridges at end of strokes and they don't make oversize piston kits. Sad part, this engine is only a couple years old. I forgot this one too. I wanted to get it on the bench and see why it doesn't want to run. Got one of those silly ignitions that you turn the key to "start", kick it over till it starts up then turn the key to the "run" position. I think its electrical.

Engine cut-out captured with timing light.
You can also hear what I think is rod noise on deceleration too. But my brain tells me if was a rod I think it would be knocking all the time.
Going to swap exhaust for the rod noise because I did not hear this with previous exhaust, but could coincidence and I didn't hear it before.

Wire cap coil plug gap ? One of the 4 is giving you a issue , you don't have a adjustable timing Cdi do you ? The connection on the coil on tight?

Wire cap coil plug gap ? One of the 4 is giving you a issue , you don't have a adjustable timing Cdi do you ? The connection on the coil on tight? Its a new plug boot(oe), plug is fairly new(less than hour), stock cdi and coil. Does the same thing with a new ngk plug boot. I did have one problem last year. The old plug boot that(ratch's on, the type where you have to remove the threaded top of the spark plug), well the pin that locks it on to the plug broke. The only thing that held the boot on the plug was the boot itself. Just a shot, but I was thinking that there was not a direct connection to the top of the plug the coil had to work harder to jump the gap there as well as at the electrode of the plug and the coil may have been damaged. Was just a thought. Seeing I have it narrowed down to a ignition issue, it's probably going to be something stupid. Thanks for the input.

did you pull the flywheel at all possibly lose the key ? I did that once that is why i am asking lol bad plug or gap? Hmmm wild Flip the kill switch a few times see if it's cutting out same with the ignition switch ... Good luck I use contact cleaner on the switches we live in the desert dirt makes them stick hit it with the spray the the air gun Good luck.. Tell us what it was when you find it .

On page 4 of the thread I show a drive pulley/nut on the flywheel. I did briefly crank the engine with this setup and the nut was just snugged. Long story short, the engine fired off and the nut spun off and the flywheel key got a little beat up. I replaced with a new one. I had done some test runs and after working out the resistor plug issue(older vid in thead)and was getting more rpms back then. I did find a connector on the harness that was not fully connect, but this did not fix the problem. I figure my riding season is just about over so once I get it back on the bench, I will be going thru it all. I will know more in the next few weeks.

But damn fine work sohfaah, you might just make me a a a believer.lol. I am only a ZX50 fanboy because I own 2 ZX's and 2 Honda Elite's. All my support parts are 99% interchangeable between the two models. I think if I started off with a decent Minarelli platform I'd be doing that route. I just don't have the re$ource$ to play both platforms.
