LED lights use less elec (wattage) than the standard incandescent. The headlights are run on a separate AC circuit that is not voltage regulated. If your HID can work on AC at no more than the same wattage as stock, you'll be ok. If AC won't work, add a full wave rectifier between the alternator (the thing on the right side of the crankshaft that generates electricity) and the headlight circuit. I've gone from 2 25 watt headlight bulbs to 2 35 watt headlight bulbs with no problems.

Don't waste your time on the pipe unless you are just doing it for looks.

Since ttracer305 has posted several threads on this same topic . . an admin parameter NOT allowing newly registered to post for several days might be worth consideration. Pretty obvious many are not making ANY effort to review previous discussions!

ttracer305 : Welcome to the forum! I hate to make my first post to you contain a correction of sorts, but please don't post multiple threads on the same issue. I just deleted the 2 duplicate threads that you created a couple of hours ago. If your original thread isn't receiving the replies that you hoped for, hang in there a bit or try commenting in the original thread with more detail or responses to previous posts to see if that helps. Some people convert to a larger stator and the accompanying parts when the want to run a heavier electrical load, but it requires re-wiring. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/6532jackrides mentioned AC powered HID lights. I couldn't tell you if those kits exist or not, but I can tell you to be careful when looking for them. Some of the lights themselves may be powered by AC, but they need a ballast and what I saw when I last searched were all ballasts requiring DC power to them. I made the mistake of buying an AC HID kit, and found all of this out when I got nothing but electrical cracks and snaps when I tried to hook it to my TaoTao. So to make sure it's clear, the kit I bought was labeled as an AC HDI kit. What it meant was that the bulb was supplied with AC power, but the ballast that supplied the bulb still required DC power. HIDs may not be necessary to get good lighting. Some of our members have had good luck with newer LED headlight bulbs. I upgraded mine to H4s with some work and could consistently get good bulbs that way. I went as far as 60/65W Silverstar H4s and that works awesome... until it starts melting the headlight housing and possibly plastic around it. Gotta be careful how much heat you put into these housings. 45W didn't give me any trouble. You can get 45W BA20D bulbs (should be a direct replacement) too. I didn't have any trouble with the charging system (that I noticed at least... like not starting) when I was using the 45W or 65W bulbs.

Don't waste your time on the pipe unless you are just doing it for looks. The pipe i have now is an mmg one and the exhaust is held on by 3 nuts and since its so long it vibrates till the nuts come loose...so the 4stroke version of the 2stroke pipe is better because it wont shake as much i have to post a pic....so once i get home i will
