I dunno much about the 139QMB. If there is such a thing as short and long case in these, I'd assume mine's a short case... unless some models came with 8" wheels or something. My parts arrived from sunlparts.net, sorta... I'm less than pleased with the big bore kit. It is missing the oil pump, instructions (which doesn't really worry me), and whatever the gear is shown on their site. Maybe a variator face or something? I sent an email requesting the missing parts promptly (I really don't wanna be waiting another 2 weeks). The cylinder and head are each packaged in thin plastic with no sort of anti-corrosion chemical. The brand new cylinder is rusty. It can be cleaned off, but it's not really a great sign of parts quality... not that I expected this to be world class for $100... but I did expect it to be complete and not rusty. I'm too used to dealing with the 90cc+ stuff for my scooter I guess, because the piston and valves and everything looks tiny to me. I'll be suprised if this head is any different than stock.

I would be ashamed to sell anybody parts like that $100 bucks or not. Thats worse than buying brand new rusted brake rotors. And to top it off they didnt send the complete set of rusted parts with the kit. I wouldnt be happy, you are gonna complain to the place you got it right?

I already sent an email asking for my parts promptly. I never said anything about the rust. I can take care of that easy enough.
I never realised it before, but it's pedez2000 from ScootDawg running sunlparts.net. It's right in his signature over there, but somehow I missed it.

I almost go tthe big bore kit installed (minus the oil pump of course). I was torqueing the camshaft holder/rocker assembly, on the last nut of course, when the stud snapped. It snapped before I even reached 13ft/lbs on the torque wrench (and yes, my wrench was recently calibrated by Snap-On so it should be accurate). These stupid little 4 stroke studs are 6.85mm diameter on the ends (M7 I believe) and then narrow down to 5.2mm in the center. Even at that size, you'd think it wouldn't snap at under 13ft/lbs. Hopefully I can find replacement studs. I wish I could find some solid M7 studs, but I'll take what I can get at this point. I guess this was a fluke or maybe I shoulda treated this thing like my car. I pull the studs out, clean the threads, apply ARP thread lube, and install them finger tight every time I remove the cylinder heads. I didn't really think all that was necessary in this case. If anyone knows a good source of studs, lemme know. I'm hoping to find a set and order tonight to get 'em on the way ASAP. This cylinder kit has needed everything checked too. It was rusty. The ring end gap for the 2nd ring was off. It was .004" and I wanted .009". (I'm using bore diameter" x .004" for the top ring and bore diameter' x .005" for the 2nd ring.) The exhaust port was kind of out of round. The intake port had a casting clump in it (beyond normal casting imperfections, a clump of material). I'd suggest leaving this kit alone unless you don't mind doing some cleanup work. It really sucks getting this far... to the point where the only things left are valve adjustment and putting the valve cover on basically... and then having something stupid happen. Not that it woulda been great if something bad happened at any point.

Partsforscooters carry studs, but it looks like either there are 2 different sizes per engine or there could be just 2 different potential sizes. I think it's 2 short and 2 long, but I guess I gotta check to be sure. I'm missing my 2 strokes now.

Oh, while looking around I also see that there are short and long case versions of the 139qmb. Mine is a short case. It looks like the CVT cover's are different. Short case looks like mine, long case looks more like the standard 150cc GY6 covers.

Dang, sorry to hear the bad news about the weak stud. At least it didnt break when you got it all back together and your dad was riding it. I asked about the cases because mine has the same wheels and i have enough room for 12,s on mine. I knows mines a 2t and that one is a 4stroker, but its good to know that there is short and long 4stroke cases too for future scoots.
