I'm dissatisfied with the TaoTao cy50-b. My average top speed has been 27 mph. I would prefer to put work into something with more potential. Should I grab the Jog? Their asking 500. Hopefully I will get it for a bit less as it is but ugly.

$400 got me this. Yep, thats a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan. 320000+ miles on that beast. The spedo is 10% optimistic. Ive had it up to 40 - 42 mph. I'll get a gps reading on my errands today.

Definitely worth upgrading to a 2 stroke. Not gonna lie, i do ride a 4t quite a bit, but when it comes down to it, i'd rather be burnin premix

Thanks Senormayhem
There's a '92 in Lakewood I wish I had the money for. It's on the "5mile" app if anyone is interested.

Atariguyfc, would it be better if I deleted the oil injection and ran premix?

Atariguyfc, would it be better if I deleted the oil injection and ran premix? I would leave it unless you go higher than a sport cylinder. Mixing can be a PITA. Besides, it's a yamaha and has a great pump.

I have a jog like this with stock everything besides CVT. Fast and reliable. I wouldn't go premix unless you go with a nice bbk, even then it's not really needed. But it is better on the piston (obviously) to have more oil, and premix does give more oil. But the stock Yamaha pump works on my stock jog, and my bugeye Zuma with tpr black bbk and stage6 pro-rep pipe.

I never ran oil injection in mine. A lot of folks do though, and as long as you keep the reservoir above half full, you shouldn't run into any problems. I'm picky though, and not knowing exactly how much oil my engine gets would drive me bat guano crazy. There's drawbacks to every method, just gotta find what works best for you.
Another subject that most people ask is what oil to use, and the consensus is to find a good quality synthetic oil that will work with your setup. If you premix, get premix oil. Similar with injection oil. I personally stick with amsoil

Thanks every one for your input. For now I need to tear it down and clean it up. Likely, also, a decarbonization of the top end.

Nice project hope it goes well for you,but I,d like to ask benji about his jog if you don,t mind,so benji can you detail the CVT mod/upgrade you made and what speed it got you to. cheers geoff
