Thanks Happypancake! I got restless thinking about it and opened it back up. Sure enough, I had the plastic washer and thrust washer on the countershaft reversed. That wouldn’t have lasted long! While I was digging thru stuff, I found the Met II swingarm and opened it up so I could see the gear relationships. Then I marked everything so it wouldn't GET mixed up, and took some pictures: **In the photos, I have a 13T countershaft labeled as Ruckus, but what I really mean is I pulled it from a Ruck swingarm I got in a trade. Don't know if it's original to the transmission. I was using the Ruck 13T in the center. That's because I didn't know the Met 13T had stopped using the thrust washer in 2002. You can see below how the new countershaft is machined So now to button it back up so I can start the wee beastie! (thanks again Happypancake! )

And these showed up over the weekend. Was going to GET the TRS Vapor stem, but this was too good a deal to pass up. Bars were cut by PO, and they're a bit short for non-drum controls (and the Lance Cabo controls are HUGE), so I've gotta either buy new bars, or figure out different levers. We'll see...

I’ve got the same bar/stem/riser on Waffle.

I’ve got the same bar/stem/riser on Waffle. I remembered that after they showed up. As much as I try to differentiate, sometimes things are popular for good reason. Once I sell off some extra parts, I still might GET the TRS Vapor But putting this scooter together, registered and on the road is a bigger priority. The fact that I'm starting a job TV series this week means I'll have even less time than before (but I GET a lot more done when I have a lot to do).

Holy cow it's been a while since I've been able work on my Met. Let's see...
Finished the transmission work: Met gears, Ruck swingarm, Polini variator, 5g and 5.5g sliders mixed in, Gates belt. All buttoned up! Changed the front frame out to one I picked up WITH a title. New bars (same, but new) and controls (shaved Met with new levers) - gotta fix something with the throttle. New harness and ECU - have a few fixes with bullet vs box connectors
But I plugged it all together (without routing or buttoning up) and when I turned the key - the lights went on, and the fuel pump clicked! Now I have to GET the harness tucked away, and start in on the body.
Pics to come (there is a crap ton left to do)!

Pics as promised. New rubber up front New valve on the rear (put a new valve on when I got the new tire, but it cracked) New bars, levers, and shaved controls. I'll narrow the bars, and figure out what's binding the throttle later. Also going to make a better attachment for mounting the Trail Tech to the bar clamp (it's for a water bottle cage). The angle irons work, OK, and I could cut them, but I'd like one solid piece. I think I'll use some super thick Kydex; easy to work with, resists solvents. We have a roller! Waiting on some radiator tubing (I forgot how hammered this bike was), but I'll be tucking wires in the meantime.

Looks good man. I have to move my engine over as well pretty much the same set up. But my tire sits just a hair to the right of the scoot. Before TR went down (and some far smarter people than me told me) i have to cute the old ruckus engine bushings off the left side and either move them to the right or use washers or a spacer to shift it over.

I keep forgetting to even check. My brain tells me that only happens to "other" people. As if I'm not constantly having to fix adjust some non-stock project I'm modding, of whatever kind. Probably need to cut down on that.

Using the 12x7 Rockstar is shifted it over like this. Needed to cut off part of bushing

Thanks again Happypancake! I remember that thread (and the Photbucket fix extension lets me see 95%). I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I'm offset or not. Since I'm using a stock Ruck rear tire, I hope to be OK.

Been too long (sorry - life and such). While I'm waiting for my new giant Fastenall bolt (thanks again Happypancake), I figured I'd do a little style

jbjhillbilly How did your rear wheel go, was it offset? How'd you deal with it?

jbjhillbilly How did your rear wheel go, was it offset? How'd you deal with it? I'm using a Ruckus motor, swingarm, and rear wheel, so I'm pretty close to centered, but there might be some adjustments to be made. I'm having to plow thru some other projects now to get back to the Met. Hopefully very soon.
