Time to resurrect this build. My buddy who owns the shop rolled it onto the rack a couple of days ago. Hope I can remember where I was with everything (I know there was some harness/ECU nonsense happening).

I have an extra Met harness if u can’t find it Thanks. I bought one, now I just have to check it’s compatibility with the ECU - I had thought that Met ECUs would swap like Ruck ECUs, but the Met have to match with the rear harness.

Swapped out the rear harness last night. Also cut the rear fender, but will likely have to do some more.
And I finally remembered to look at my rear wheel - it’s not centered. Will work on that Friday. Not a big deal to drop the engine.
*sigh*
Somehow I remembered being a lot farther along with this when I put it up a couple of years ago. Probably the same delusional thinking that me believe my marriage was fixable. Oh well...not a ton of work - just replace the hoses, plug the harness in, and pop the panels on. A couple of solid days and it’ll be running (as long as I didn’t burn the ECU using the wrong harness). The only hard part will be translating the Honda connections to the Trail Tech Vapor and dashboard. Luckily my buddy who owns the shop is awesome with electrics.

Less than an inch (probably 3/8”).
I also have the bolt from McMaster-Carr you recommended (way back when).

Here’s a pic. Also noticed how close my shock and tire are. That’s going to be an issue when I move the engine over farther to the left. Oh well. One problem at a time!

I remember that (it’s actually earlier in the thread). But how does the hanger fit? Isnt it going to hit the intake when it’s over that far? Or is it a non-issue? (Mocked up)

Will do on the tensioner (next round). Is that a straight drop-in? Also, had to do some cutting on the rear frame to make the shock work with a Ruck swingarm. Turns out the Met shock mount is an inch to the right of where it sits in a Ruck. Worked out great. Waaay better than hard tail. And no fabbing necessary! I was worried I’d have to make a lower mount/riser. Harness and hoses tomorrow (plus some other bikes at the shop that need work).

Hoses and harness (mostly) hooked up. Then I got the rear mocked up. Tossing up a bit of a stink bug, but I’m trying to get it running before I get too deep in the weeds with stance and the rest of it. I mean the side panels and from fender are in bad shape, so move and then look. More work either tomorrow or Wednesday!

Woo hoo!! Was worried last night when at first it wouldn't fire. Turns out I hadn't tightened the spark plug down when I put the Trail Tech temp sensor on (I think I was just test fitting at the time).
I forgot to mention earlier in the thread that I had actually swapped the frame out. The original didn't have a title. Wasn't worried about stolen, but the CA DMV are insane with their fees and penalties. Came from back East for a decent price.
Oh yeah - this isn't Mommy's scooter anymore. She didn't want it (not interested in scooting). Also not my wife anymore, so there's that!
Kinda been needing to finish this off just so it isn't hanging over my head. Getting closer!

Just remembered that I also had to swap the gas tank out. Sitting outside for the last 3 years didn’t do the original tank any favors - whatever water got in it actually rusted pin holes thru the bottom, and dissolved the retainer clip off of the fuel float.
Luckily, we had another tank at the shop. Had some rust and varnish on the inside, so I dumped a gallon of white vinegar in, along with a box of stainless wood screws. Sealed it up and let it sit for a couple of days, with some vigorous swishing along the way.
To mitigate flash rust (or at least minimize), before I emptied it out I poured some motor oil in. Machine salad dressing, if you will. Swished it around as I emptied it into its own recycling bottle, and then rinsed the tank with gas a few times to GET that mixture out.
Finally I got all the rest of the sludge and bits out with rags, paper towels, and long forceps. Will have to remember to check the fuel filter sooner than later.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming!
