Hey I'm building me a toy from the ground up and I need to know how to determine if an engine is not running GY6 Chinese if it's not running how do I determine whether AC or DC fired

They usually have a 2 section connector, with one section having 2 pins and the other having 4. On the part that has 2 pins, many DC CDIs have just 1 wire instead of 2. If you have a multimeter, you can check and a DC CDI should have switched 12V + from the battery present on one of those pins. That may not be a sure fire check with a non-running scooter though, because perhaps it won't run because it's getting no power there. Also, DC CDIs tend to be much larger than AC CDIs.
