I have the stock original carb on the TaoTao 50 139qmb. I ordered a 90 main jet that has course threads and will not screw into my carb. The stock jet has fine threads. I called scooter domain and they had no idea where to buy the fine thread jet. Please help me out guys and give a company I can purchase from.

First off thank you 90vertGT for all the TaoTao YouTube videos, I have made my modes based on information from you. I purchased CVK MAIN JET (# 90) ; NCY , like I said that has the wrong thread count. So apparently the CVK style have completely different thread count from say a Kehin style chinese carb. It's like my carb is metric and the above jet is standard or something. Any way, how can I tell what thread I have on carb. Like the link you listed Thread Size: M4x0.70 . I'm afraid to run my UNI pod filter until I can get a 90 jet. V/r John

If you take the carb or the original jet to a hardware store, you can figure out the threads. Or just buy a metric thread gauge.

CVK main jet should be like what the 150cc uses. Not what the 50 uses. So far, I haven't had a 139QMB that used different jets than what I linked to in it's stock carb.
If you have a jet that fits the carb, you can measure it. Measure the diameter of the threaded area. Then measure the distance between 2 peaks of the threads. Should be metric. So if you get say 6mm diameter and it's 1mm between the peaks of the threads, you'd be looking for an M6x1.0 thread. You'll prob need to use something more precise than a tape or ruler, like calipers, because you're only looking at small differences in diameter and very small differences in pitch.

Thank you all for the replies, I am living and working at Guantanamo Bay Naval Air Station, Cuba. Being confined to this 45 square mile installation means no taking the carb in to a store. I will order up from the link to jets r us. Hopefully this will fit as I don't have a set of calipers to measure with.

I would email jetsrus. They should be able to help you identify the carb so you don't waste time or money. Also, a 'jet drill' kit is nice for this exact reason. You can just drill em up a size or two and check how she runs.
