My wifes gy6 says it goes 40.... Really it tops at 38mph with the needle buried ... Seems like the most you can do with these without buying expensive parts is just increase acceleration. ( after derestriction.)

If bulbs keep going out, especially when you rev higher, you could have a regulator/rectifier issue.

take the bulbs to the auto parts store, i bet they will have one. then you don't have to wait for one to ship in.

I'd try 6g if only choosing one.

yeah the one comes with 8g and the cvt kit comes with your choice of dr sliders so idk what to do. but i was also thinking 6g or 5.5g.
on a side note i got a strap wrench hopefully that will let me take my cvt apart. i will also be getting a tiny tach. XD

that cam really helps getting up and moving. i also read some where that these engines heads were made for the 72cc cylinder but they had to restrick them by putting a 49cc jug on. i don't know if its tune but ive read it at lot of forums? idk

well that information relates directly to something i read on here. basically it shows that the head is set larger then needed for the 50cc engine. on the flip side it seems to be spot on for the 80cc ish engines. it was a while back that i read it ill see if i can dig up a link.

Most stock heads coupled with 80+cc kits create too much compression and heat. They can work well on 70cc kits in some cases. I've heard differing opinions and I think a lot of that depends on the particular engine. Unfortunately all parts aren't created equal in all GY6 50s. I've had valves smack the piston on setups that other people run with no problem. I've had overheating and detonation in setups that others say work great.
