Does anybody know the trouble in removing and replacing the rear wheel bearring on these mina engines?......I seen the front wheel in the directory but nothing on the rear.. Can it be done w/o disassembly of the engine?.. Prolly not since they have to be pressed in... And boy, i know how my luck is with a press. I ASSUME it's the bearring, there seems to be "play" in side to side, seems to be a bit much in just rotating the wheel and of course when your at speed you can hear an awful noise at the same spot.... you wouldn't think at 3300kms it would go bad but i guess that's why these are cheap chinese clones

You have the take apart the final drive. They are pressed in but i usually just use sockets and hammer and works great.

Yep, final drive shaft bearing. Some heat around it with a propane torch helps me when nocking them out with a dead blow hammer and my "bearing tool", any old socket with the same OD will work tho, as MAReames said. If you freeze the shaft and heat the bearing it will go in real easy. If its a bearing in the trans you can heat the bearing housing and freeze the bearing to get them in easy.

To remove the old one I actully use a socket that just fits in side the trans side bearing and put an extension on it and knock out the old bearing then use a socket the same size as the OD of the new bearing and crafully tap it back in. No heat or freezing needed. Also don't forget to remove the snap ring before knocking out the old bearing.

Are you speaking of the input shaft or the output shaft bearing MAReames? By the sounds of it you are speaking of the input.. Heres a couple pics to show. The input shaft here (not a good pic) is the one covered with the red shop rag. Output I believe Thebatman is speaking of the output shaft bearings correct?

Oh wait I am also talking about short case never done a long case. My new engine is long case but has the same final drive as a short case.

hEY GUYS, THANKS FOR THE REPLYS TODAY... yEAH, I CAN GRAB THE REAR WHEEL AND "ROCK" it back and forth. It has a goos 3mm play. The noise at speed actually sounds like it's coming from the clutch side... I had washed the scoot today and rode down the rd to test it out when i noticed the noise.. The WIERD part is that when i got back home, there was a redISH fluid all over the wheel. Its coming from the nut area of the shaft, so i assume a seal is shot also.. IDK Y it would be redISH tho. THe only thing i would think it's gear oil, but i havent seen redISH gear oil before. Now i wonder if all 4 bearings/seals in the final drive are shot. I thought i had something here... This thing has 13" wheels, dual disc brakes which i thought was odd........

I just checked the gear oil side, Its gear oil. So now the redISH stuff is really whack... It looks like dried blood atm on the wheel.... WOOOOOWWWWWW!!....

I cant seem to find it anywhere but i know it's in the forum somewhere..... 1)Can someone tell me if a 788 18.1 is the right belt for a mina engine?..... 2)Any ideas on a good place for a 638z bearing?... That's the bearing in the cvt cover.... Thanks for any input on this.. I believe the wheel bearings are good and it's the cover bearing that's gone bad
