I've never had a true "walk of shame" The closest I've had, is when my 4t QMB139 (E-ton Sport 50, now sold) carb bowl drained and cut out while I was going up a steep hill, which was very fun, but electric start cranked it over real quick and I was back on my way. Now I am unreasonably obsessed with 2 strokes.

When my Keeway F-act ate the factory rings at 4000 miles I walked it at least a mile to my GF’s house. That 50cc needed to go anyway.

Had my first break down today. Was turning onto a main drag when all of a sudden the bike started to bog badly. Pulled into a restaurant parking lot, kicked it a couple times, ok feels like i have compression, so popped the underseat compartment and grabbed my can of carb cleaner give a couple shots, nothing. Then notice the spark plug wire just dangling, crap must've forgot to push it all the way. Put it back on felt it click. Continued on my way over to my buddy's house, gave it WOT and once again bogged and shut off. Look down sure enough spark plug wire popped off again. Grabbed the zip ties out of the compartment and ziptied the spark plug wire to the stator wires. Turned around and headed for home happy I wasn't doing the walk of shame the 4 miles back to my house. Lesson=ALWAYS CARRY ZIPTIES! Also throw a spare wire end under the seat.

I’ve had that plug wire issue. Damn upsetting. The plug cap has the tiny hole for the threaded end of a plug with no screw top. Not sure why anybody ever thought this was better but whatever. It’s on my list of things to remedy.

I've had one walk of shame and one partial walk, call for help, roadside seat of shame.
The walk of shame occured in the first two weeks I had the bike and was an out of gas issue. The RT doesn't have a fuel gauge and I hadn't yet mastered the shake and listen method of fuel estimation. Thought I could make it to the gas station on my route, but I made it exactly one block.
Ah craaaap. Was a total noob, so no reserve. It was about 5:00AM, so thankfully there weren't a lot of people about. Halfway to the gas station, boom. Bottom stops out of the sky. Weather man said there was only a 30% chance. All 30% ended up on top of me until I got to gas station. Halfway through fill up. Rain stops.
The seat of shame occured when I didn't adequately tighten down the variator nut before testing new roller weights. Had a weird shimmy that I could feel in the foot pegs. Decided to turn around and head back.
The very second I started speeding up after pulling the U-ey, POP! No power, high pitch whine and rattling coming from transmission. Oh crap! oh crap! oh crap! Hit killswitch and coast to side of road.
It's about half mile back along a bendy road, with no sidewalk, and people are notorious for speeding. Easy to get hit. Walk for a bit til I got to wide spot by the road and called brother with pickup truck to come get me.
While I wait, I'm wondering how bad it's gonna be when I open up transmission case. Visions of shredded belts and torn up gears, clutch, crank arm, or variator rattling around in my head. It took my brother half an hour to get there. Plenty of time to consider every bad scenario. We get back to house, I pull cover off, huge sigh of relief. Everything is still in place. The variator nut is still on, it's just loose. I got really lucky.
So now I double and triple check all bolts. If there's even a hint of doubt about fuel level. I gas up. 😂😂😂

This happened on the way home from work the other day. The bike didn't fail to proceed but it wouldn't get up to normal speed despite revving out fine. Doesn't matter cos I don't have a job now, only problem is that now I'm too skint to fix it!

Ran out of gas twice and broke a drive belt twice on three different scooters.
On the way to a gas station and had to push an HD200 the last half mile, luckily level ground.
Stuck gas gauge on a Tomos Nitro 150, had to push it up a steep grade about 3/4 of a mile, then coasted down a mountain about 3 miles straight into a gas station.
Busted a drive belt about two miles from home on the same Tomos Nitro 150, that was a long all uphill walk/push.
Busted a drive belt on a Lance PCH 150 and broke some of the fins off the variator trying to remove it. Left it overnight in town 12 miles from home and came back the next day with an impact wrench. It was unmolested and put a spare belt on with an impact wrench and limped home with the busted variator at 25 mph.

OK so this one is not 1 of the many horror stories I've Gone through on different Set UPS. , But it's a good one happen last night in I believe is a perfect example of how karma works. Was riding home last night after just going on a short ride and instead of going to the usual shell to get gas I went about a mile Further to where they sell gas without ethanol. It was in the night time and bike was riding super sweet Pulled up to the pump Mute your head oil for pre mix put in my card and lo and behold it said speak yo clerk. so i went inside tried to buy $4 worth of gas and my card was declined. fuck. i asked him to try a single dollar but i know my acount must be overdrawn as it rarely doesnt have four bucks in it unless a charge came in late, i was unfortunately right. So I leave the gas station Figuring I still make it home even though I don't have a gas meter I always just go by looking in the tank and make it a habit that whenever I'm down the Hill to just get gas. I pulled off in noticed there is 2 people on the corner trying to get one of their moped started Most people would assume in this case that the mopeds were attempting to be stolen and I myself have personally had a moped stolen from that very fucken gas station but I could tell that these were just beaters and where the people's only transportation so I pulled by and asked them if they needed help they said no so right roared off. Zip the way for maybe one block before it died I didn't panic because at this point I just tried restarting at once or twice then instantly just looked in that tank and realize it was bone dry long as well as the filter. So I walked my bike back to those 2 people and asked THEM For help if they had any spare change , One person was on top of the 1 moped that they had just been able to start in the guy was kicking viciously at what sounded like a stripped kick start gear trying determined to get it starting the girl ended up checking your pocket and giving me like a $1.15 worth of change I was super grateful and As soon as the change hit my hands the other moped that was giving no signs of life whatsoever came Back to life, I gave them a joint a had on me, (dont do drugs this is supposed to show the consequences of doing them) . So all in all that got me home last night and back to the gas station today all in all I think it's a great example of how what goes around comes around.
And trust me I know this is and a break down and walk of shame story but with so many of those in my life I figured I'd write about the ones that ended up being OK So if you guys are in this kind of situation you know how many times all of us have gotten ourselves back home with a lot of engenuity and a few simple tools.

My 49cc scooter broke down . It's cold ,its 2am , I'm about 10 miles from home . I've almost always been able to repair scooter on when it's done this . This time I couldn't. After applying the SPARK / FUEL Equation to the problem I did rule out fuel . Pushed it about 5 miles to a convenience store . Cleared it with clerk to let it sit until I came back to get it . Walked another 2 miles to get car . Got it home . Got the old spark plug, snapped the plug wire on it .Spark was fine . I had about 50 miles prior to this installed one of those red spark plugs I'd purchased from Amazon. No way a new spark plug be bad I thought . Was i wrong ! The electrode had came loose. Atleast it stayed in plug . I purchased to of them . I had a new spare. I installed the old plug in it . Do not buy these plugs , if anyone offers to give you one or more of these as a gift do not accept .

Yesterday. 2 miles from home Godzilla peters out a dies 1/2 way down a slight hill. I pop clutch trying to start her with inertia and nada. Pull over kick kick kick nothing. Pull boot to check plug and it falls apart in 2 places. No tools! Usually I carry, but I just bought a new scoot sack and didn’t transfer the goods over. Then I remember an old SCOOT TV video with Honest Mike striping CDI wires with his teeth on the side of the freeway...IT WORKED! Wrapped wire around plug and hauled ass! 3 times it got loose and died, ran like shit, had the metal fender between my knees, made it home.

Glad you made it. Only time mine died away from home was when wrist pin bearing wedged between piston and head.
