2 weeks of beating a new Eton Beamer, Review

A short review for anyone doing a search later . . .

I got my Eton 50 2 weeks ago. Ive ridden it everyday to and from work in an urban area. This little bike is an absolute blast to ride !!! Sooo much fun !!! I ride a full-size MC very conservatively but for some reason the lil cherry bomb encourages me to ride like a hooligan :riding: :checkered:

The gas gauge didnt work when I got it, but sometime in the last week, it started working. I dunno. . . I know its useless, but its nice to know there is less of a chance of a gremlin that could get worse.

After I got the start routine, I can kick it over in one kick, sometimes two at the most. The electrical starter seems real iffy. Sometimes feels like the battery is almost dead. Might be though, I havent put a meter on it.

Disc brake squeaks. Very annoying . . . Need to try to fix this.

Brand new, Im getting about 43 on the speedo on flats, 30 up some pretty steep hills. hopefully a little more when it gets a few more miles, but way more than I expected from a 50.

I parked outside at work and in the 100 degree heat, the mirror plastic expanded so much the glass rattled crazily til the wind-blast cooled them down a little

I can see why this is considered a lower-level / tier II bike, but for the 1250.00 I paid for it, I think I did OK. I really like this bike and would recommend it to someone looking for a budget 50. My only worry is that I am going to want to find a liquid cooled Super 9 or SR50, now.

sounds legit! i recently got a 2t vento triton r4 and i love it too! so much fun to ride around like a goon speeding off. recently i got the cdi and coil replaced too and it gave it a reallll nice kick. look into that for ur scoot, i spend like 40 bucks on the part and it was wayyy worth the power increase...

I was looking into that Eton CDI unit on the scrappydog site. If you say it makes that much of a difference I might go ahead and get on the list for it.

The Vento high up on my list until I found the Eton just a few miles from my house. I always like the looks if them and the mod stuff available for them.
