soo... when i got my scoot the brake lever for the front was broke off, and the brakes have these chunks of black stuff in the resavoir and NO fluid what so ever, so i havent used the f brake yet but i was wondering...
whats the use of the abs block on the vento triton r4? is it just for people who dont know how to not squeeze the front brake as hard as possible?
whats the advantage of removing the abs, just total brake control?
(on a side note does anyone know how my f brake could have got into this condition.. would i be okay to just add fluid and bleed or does it seem there are bigger problems here?) :spark:

Take the reservoir off the handle bar and turn it upside down and spray some carb cleaner upward in there to clean out the black chunks and then leave it upside down for a minute til all the carb spray evaporates then reattach the reservoir and fill/bleed it.
The Chinese ABS systems aren't all that great. I removed one one time. It's not a necessity.

Yeah. There is a bleed valve on the caliper. You squeeze the lever and hold it then open the bleed valve with an 8mm wrench for a second, then close the bleed valve and release the lever. Repeat 50-100 times till all the air comes out re-filling the reservoir as needed throughout the process.

I didn't really see much, if any, difference removing it. I know some people say their front brakes can lock up, mine cannot even without the ABS. The main things it did for me were dropping a 1/4 lb and making it look a little cleaner. 3 threads that may be of use... 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gimmeabrake

good threads - lets see - no abs, no oil injection...if I keep hanging on this board more of my scoot will be in the trash than on the frame! A true "bobber"

Yes, regular brake fluid. Careful not to get it on any painted parts. Does anyone know where you can get just a replacement rubber sealer for the master cylinder?

i would use dot 4 if you can get it if not dot 3 would be fine you should be able to get one or the other at your local parts store as that is what cars use

The difference is mostly in boiling point, the higher the Dot the higher the boiling point.
