im going to be installing my malossi 70cc iron bbk on my ac kymco super 9 and was searching the tech library for a how to on 2 stroke 70cc installs but i couldnt find any. if there are ones for my exact engine that would be awsome but if not is there one that has like the same procedures on how to install one like how it goes together jsut as a guideline on the install since this is my first time working on a scooter engine.

Thats not your exact engine but i know if you follow those directions you will be just fine with your engine.

i like to leave the plug wire off and crank it a bit before i try to fire the first time it puts a bit extra oil in the crank and bore and it primes the carb for you
just take your time and double and triple check every thing before you start it for the first time make sure your cirlcips are in good and in the proper oreintation(the opening followes the direction of the rod movement)

The circlips are a C shape basically. You want the open part of that C to face the piston crown or the bottom of the piston skirt instead of facing the sides of the piston. The idea is that if the opening were facing the sides of the piston, the forces from the piston's motion could partially compress the circlip and make it easier for it to come free.

im going to switch to premix. what should i do about my stock oil injection can i jsut disconect the tank and cap off the line from there? i really dont want to take it completly out of the case cux i heard that a pain in the ass and i dont have the right tools to pull the flywheel off. i would much rather prefer taking out the tank to save weight and just caping off the tube that would connect to tank. is this a good solution?

If you remove that bolt, pull the pump out and just remove the shaft(pulls out), it'll be in operatable, and just place the top portion back on the case with the 1 bolt that holds it.. They do sell a "plug" at SA.(the price jumped from $9 to 25 tho).. I'd leave the tank on, you may decide you need a reserve GAS tank. ;D

i looked at the how to on the tech lab here and i swear i saw that in the pictures you take the flywheel off and strator. if not how do you do it on the super 9?

The oil pump is on the top on the engine on a Kymco SF10 engine like yours. The pics on the tech section refer to a Minarelli style engine. In this pic you can see it under the mount crossbar, next to the intake. It has a cable going to it, and oil line from the tank.

yeah i see that cable all i have to do is unhook it from there and cap it and then it will be gone right?

I cant see where the bolt is to take off and the pump in the pic. Is it conected to the intake or right below the crossbar in the middle. After i take the pump out can i just put the bolt back in and be done?

Im betting if you go out and look at the scoot you want to pull the pump off of you will see the fasteners that hold it to the engine? I would suggest plugging the hole that the pump was in with something as well. If not, im sure it would get road grime and dirt in it.
