190mech is going to help me try to mod an existing pipe I already have, to hopefully play nice with the 50 x 52.6 = 103cc combo. I am ok cutting and welding things up, but when it comes to the pipe calculator he sent me, it is all way over my head. So he will be directing me on what to try based on the information I provide him. Setting a date to get a build going is never a good idea for me, too many things get in the way. But I would really like to get this motor done in time for the fall Harley Rally October 1st - 10th so I can have some fun!

Have you tried looking at 125cc road bike exhausts like the nsr125, tzr125, rd125 etc etc? Cutting up one of those?

Can you get me the Ex chord width and height?Need it to calculate this pipe..
Edit, need the distance from piston face to end of exhaust port flange too..

Can you get me the Ex chord width and height?Need it to calculate this pipe.. Edit, need the distance from piston face to end of exhaust port flange too.. For the 50mm cylinder, the EX chord width is 31mm and the EX port height is 22mm. I can adjust as needed. IRRC, durations were about 184/130 I am not sure how to measure what you are asking for "Piston face to end of EX port flange" So I held the depth gauge in the center of the EX port flange and extended it into the port until it was flush with the Cyl wall sighted straight down the cyl wall. I got 38.7mm I added the stinger length to the picture. But you need to add another 25mm to it to get all the way to the silencer.

I have another question I better bring up just in case. The 52.6 stroke cranks are advertised to be used with the 52mm - 56mm cylinder jugs. The 50mm cylinder is advertised as being for the 49.6mm crank, but as I said previously, the cylinder sets up near perfect with the 52.6mm stroke crank. BDC and TDC look great, and for a change, I might even need a thin head gasket on this combo.
Will the weight of the smaller 50mm piston be an issue with the bigger crank?

OK,here is the plan, cut the pipe at the front of the belly(97.75),,cut the baffle cone at 84.55,new configured part will go between,it will be around 80mm longer,do you want it a straight shot or angled?? Edit;Belly is growing to 105mm also,if you want to anlge the pipe, now is the time,,I'll build up the new part and you can weld it on,,the silencer mount nut plate will need to be relocated, everything else will be the same..

Whew!Crazy week at work and today was no exception. For the finale I had to repair a nail hole the roofers put in the HVAC lines. I climbed a 30' ladder to get there. 190mech I think I understand the cuts you want me to make.I will mark up a picture of the cuts for your approval. Straight cuts will be fine. I kinda like the direction the pipe is currently mounted at. Its different.

How did you repair the nail hole?? Hauled the OX/actleyne torches up and scabbed over the nail hole in the copper pipe with 15% silvaloy. Super easy, took all of 60 seconds to actually repair the hole. Then another 2 hours to pull a vacuum on the system and recharge it with refrigerant. I feel sorry for the roofers, not really their fault, but they will get stuck with the repair bill, and they still have to put the roof back.

Funny thing is my younger, lighter and much more agile brother wouldn't go on the roof, but its good that he knows his limitations. This one was a newer R-410A system. For R-22 we use MO-99, Its not considered a drop in, they recommend you remove all of the R-22 then refill with MO-99. However we have been using MO-99 to completely refill AND or just to top off Legacy R-22 systems for the last 4 years, no problems at all.

Looks like a great place to be using a torch. I love your wire harness. Gotta watch your step with that one.

When i used to help my dad with rooftop refrigeration, we'd use rope and tie off toolboxes and portable torch kits to haul them up. Some slightly ambitious hauls, we still went up the ladder 1 hand on the rungs
