Brent, please rest and get well soon. Safety gear really should never be optional.

Guy that just drove off was likely drunk, or carrying stuff he did not want the po po to see. At least you got some video for the pain.
Got me thinking hard about helmets, shorts and tennis shoes again.

Damn... crazy you caught that on video as well. I try to have my helmet cam on at all times. Sometimes a batt dies prematurely or it's a 5 min trip and I don't bother, but this shows kinda why. You never know what is gonna happen or when. Kinda the same reason it's not a good idea to decide that you'll be OK for just one ride without a helmet and such.

I was just checking my youtube subscriptions and saw your vid of the accident. Sorry to see/read this brother :/ Looked awful and was hard to watch. I hope you a speedy recovery. Let me/us know if there is anything we can do to help you out buddy?
I am guilty of not wearing a helmet much anymore unless i know the weather is going to be bad. Sounds pathetic for an excuse but i like the sun on my face. Used to wear it everywhere but not so much anymore. I guess thats the chance i am taking? Sure glad you had your gear on though!

Was there a dead deer when you came to? The pest probably ran off. Those things are horrible around my neighborhood. Three of them ran out in front of me the other day when the morning sun was straight in my face. Probably doing 40 mph anyway, this really puts it in perspective.

That guy is an insult to the human race. You can’t be in that much of a rush at that hour of the morning that you can’t stop and help someone on the side of the road, especially in the condition that you were. That really pissed me off. I wish your camera got his plate.

I’m glad you are ok. Get back on that horse cowboy.
I know those sounds, the smack, the scrapping the sound of the engine spinning down and the breathing in the helmet.
Get well. You’ll be back in no time.

No. My parents actually went by there to see if anything else was left that I didn't pick up shortly after and saw no sign of a deer. I saw none, but it's pretty dark and if it were 50ft away I'd never know at that point. Honestly, didn't care. I don't like hurting animals or thinking one is suffering, but I wasn't concerned about that one right then. This actually does make me feel different about hunting. I've never liked it unless for food, but feeling this sure makes game control sound more appealing.

I’m glad you are ok. Get back on that horse cowboy. This is my 3rd real crash, but the worst. It makes me think about less night riding, but if I can ride I plan to. The nurse asked if I was ready to quit riding and I said no. He said you should think about it, there's no real protection. This is a dude in a trauma unit that I can only imagine has seen so much horrible stuff, so I respect the opinion. I was nervous with every odd reflector or shape on the roadside on the way home in the car, so I'll prob be a bit "gun-shy" for a while.

You can do it man...
Maybe play it a little more safe when cruising at night... but don’t let that nurse tell you what do to. Sounds like he’s a big pussy,
Get back on that horse cowboy.

Holy cow! So you got your pants ripped off by two women. You were part of the ER TV series and hold the record in your area for broken bones combination.
The only important question remains... did the poor deer survive?
Oh yeah and a super speedy recovery man.
Sorry, i am an animal lover first.
