Damn brother. Glad to hear it wasn't too too serious. Other than some pia injuries.
Good call on not getting the surgery. When i snapped my collarbone due to a freak accident on my mountain bike, i opted for a plate and some screws.
Now i have little feeling in the shoulder area due to them cutting away muscle and nerves. And the plate kinks now and again.
Heal quick. And buy a new helmet.
P.S. Keep the arm in a sling 24/7. Get two pillows and push them up against your body when you sleep on your back. It will help with rollover. I'm a side sleeper. Never sleep on my back. It will help keep the shoulder/collarbone from moving, but may drive you batty.
*edit* Wait. You got video!!! 🍿

Brett man so sorry to hear about your troubles.Had the same injuries scapula/collar bone and they told me the same story.I.strongly advise finding a good orthopedist and have him evaluate your situation. The bones grew heavy calcifaction where they healed and still have pain,Cant put on a jacket right or sleep on my left side.I was on a race track and I think they took me to a veterinary clinic in Ky.Then helo’d me to Indy cause I had a brain bleed. Not trying to scare you just giving some first hand experience to a guy who has always treated me well. No deer injured in my case.Frank

Here is to hoping you heal up quickly.
My advice for broken collar bone and broken ribs (I’ve had both), is to take Zyrtec or Claritin every day. Trust me, sneezing with broken ribs is an adventure in pain. And anything that makes your collar bone move sucks just as much.
+1 on jwinn’s advice about pillows. You’ll be sleeping on you back for a while. One thing that helped me was having a rope tied to the end of my bed so I could sit back up; you can’t roll on your side with a broken collar bone, and even generating momentum to roll onto your good side doesn’t work well because you can’t throw your arm over.
Glad you’re still here with us.

Thanks all. I'll get the vid up today. They told me I need to rest my brain without a lot of screen time. At first I thought I'd be fine, but I can feel the effects of much time on the PC. That's why I've been so slow. I'd actually like to finish editing that and start the other vids from H2Oi to keep me occupied, but so far I can't take it for long or my head feels weird and I start getting sensitive to light and stuff.

God dammit. Around my area there's tons of deers, and I nearly hit one during daytime doing 50mph. And most of the time I ride during nighttime, near forests and stuff. I almost never go slower than 40mph. I never actually gave it a thought of how bad it could end. Any guess on how fast you were going?
Get well soon.

Damn cagers- not even stopping. And that dude that said he was gonna pull up and decided to take off, probably would have robbed you if you were unresponsive. Get well and watch that knee and head.

Any guess on how fast you were going? Prob 30-40MPH. It was running 160F coolant temp just before this and I was about to be in a 30MPH zone.

Glad you're as well off as you are. The game wardens are going to give you a few days before they come to check your hunting license.

Damn... crazy you caught that on video as well. Would suggest next time trying a 30-30, or maybe even an AR-15 when trying to bag a deer.
Edit: And the dude that pulled up then drove off... What a dick move.
