Damn! Sorry to hear about this, and of course get well soon. The vid was a little hard to watch. You must have been in a lot of pain to make noises like that when unconscious.

Brent I am sure you have figured this out but having a bowel movement with busted ribs is pure agony. On a tip from a friend I wrapped a towel tightly around my ribs and held it.It hurts but not quite so bad. Please take my tip on the ortho guy it’s been 8 years and still pain.

Of course I broke almost all my ribs so maybe yours won’t be so bad.I was setting up a pass at about 135 when the guy I was passing locked his motor and turned sideways I T boned him went airborne and ended up against a cement wall.Lucky to make it thru that one!

Luckily, my ribs aren't that bad. I don't want to cough, sneeze, or laugh very hard though. Moves everything around the shoulder actually, from the way it feels.

I appreciate all of the well wishes and support, so I wanted to give a little update.
I just got back from my follow up at Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD after about a week and a half. Got more x-rays of the chest/shoulder area. The doc said he sees no need for any surgery. They said the ribs will probably take 6-8 weeks, and one day I'll wake up and they just won't hurt. Probably the same for the scapula. Scapula has 2 fractures, which he said basically just means it's a little more painful. Collar bone clearly snapped. That's the one thing that was obvious on the x-rays to even me.
They told me not to wear the sling and swathe all of the time because it will freeze up the shoulder. The first hospital put me in that, not Shock Trauma. They "gave" me a more simplistic sling. I have a prescription for 4 weeks of physical therapy, 3 days a week. That sounds like two things to me. Painful and expensive. I'll at least try some of it, because I need to get the shoulder moving and I'm not clear on what I can and can't do. Everything hurts, but I don't want to screw up bone healing doing something wrong. I'm glad I've taken none of the oxy whatevers. I have a feeling I'll need some during PT.
I told them about the knee. They said if it keeps bothering you or it's bad, make another appointment, but you probably are beat up. For now, I'm gonna see how it does. It has improved some. Still really stiff if it's stationary for any amount of time and some sharp pains if I move it wrong. Calf hurts. Thigh hurts sometimes. Bruising showed up in various places up and down my left side about a week after the crash.
I finished the anti-seizure meds. Head feels much better than it did. I still can't say I feel 100% there though. I noticed that even some videos with rapid movement make me feel a little weird and I get tired quick reading.
I'm going back in a month for prob a final check of the shoulder area. They said I could choose a closer doctor, but I explained that the locals said they had never seen anything like this... one working in an ER for 30+ years and the orthopedic specialist that they called didn't know what to do. They said they understand making the drive then.
One guy said he had been to my town before, Preston, MD. He said "I've lived in what I thought were rural areas before, but Preston... well, have you seen the movie Deliverance"? lol He should explore the swamps and islands around here then. That would blow his mind.
Also, scooter related.... I've realized that everyone thinks I crashed a kick scooter. They first think I fell off of a scooter, which is basically true. I say I hit a deer with a scooter and they're all baffled by how that works and I realized that motor scooter is not what they think of. My father said this is why he just tells people I ride motorcycles.

Thanks for the update. Hope things heal without much repercussion. I can relate to the head injuries and not being able to spend much time on the PC. After my last one i couldnt sit at the computer for long at all without feeling a dull headache and nausea. It still gets to me sometimes.
Be careful with those meds and PT. If you do take them it might be best to do so after your sessions? They will numb the pain you should be feeling and its easier to overdue or even reinjure yourself. Im sure you are aware of this, and excuse me if so.

This thing, that I've hardly ridden since getting it all revamped. Haven't even looked it over well. I want to, but I'm trying to be smart. From what I've seen, I don't think it's that bad. Could be totally wrong and it's crooked or something. I don't plan to make any claim. I've gotta look up my policy, because I don't think I had much on it that would help with me or the scoot. Scoot expense will be nothing compared to ER visit, ambulance ride, trauma ER visit, follow ups, lots of xrays and scans and physical therapy. Who knows how the knee will go. I could build the whole thing from scratch again for nothing in comparison. The healthcare industry sucks. The one service we truly need is ridiculously expensive. I almost refused even tylenol in the ER because I thought these $0.25 pills are gonna cost me $100... but I at least wanted 2 tylenol at that point.
