Theres this saying... 'Theres no such thing as bad weather, only bad (rain) gear'
But I totally hate riding in the rain too. I very very rarely take the scooter when it's raining or even when it's just damp. I stay indoors or grab my cage.

A rain suit helps a lot and isn't expensive. Makes a big difference when you aren't getting soaked.
I mostly ride in rain if I get caught in it. Sometimes go out when it's raining or knowing it's likely to, but not a lot.

2 piece rain ☔ suit I wear as found the one piece puddles up in the lap and works through the zip/fastenings after a while. Nothing like a wet crutch when you get off after an hours riding 😊

Frogg Togs works for me, but I haven't found hand protection that gives me good control and doesn't freeze my hands.

Being in the Los Angeles area I only have to deal with wet riding for short periods of time in the year thank goodness ,,I avoid riding in it ,,but if there's a slight chance of rain I'll take the chance,,but no scooter,,I use my trusty hot rod dr350 dual sport,,it literally can handle anything short of 3 foot or more standing water,,,as far as gear I use cycle gears motoboss suit,,works real well,,but I am a fair weather rider,,and a pussy of epic magnitude

When my scoot was working I rode in the rain and snow often. I have a decent two piece rain suit and I also have a very good riding jacket that keeps most of the rain off when I am caught out in it. I keep my visor closed to avoid rain on the glasses and the visor sheds water fairly well.
Some split finger mittens work OK in the rain and snow.
I do prefer riding on nice warm sunny days but sometimes one just MUST get out. Besides donuts in the snow are fun. KC just does not have that many good weather days so needs must.

Today been out on a 50 mile ride out in freezing rain and hailstones. I did not get wet. I bought a textal (think that's how it's spelt ) waterproof leggings of eBay cheap £20 with liner removable called Oxford 2.0 wildfire came with armour and a generic jacket same with armour on back shoulder and elbows £30. The jacket was chinese i presume make was STX .All this had been tried on but not used. The only thing I spent good money on was a pair of spada grandee motorcycle boots which can be worn anytime really and are really comfortable waterproof and breathable and my feet don't stink in them even after all day wear in the summer. Had some cheaper boots and they either leaked or I was not allowed them in the house due to smell.

Thanks for the warning. While reading this thread, my exact thought was to throw some rain-x on the visor. Whoops, won't do that! Though I am a fair-weather rider, there are some mornings where you can cut the fog with a knife. You get condensation on both in the inside and outside. End up lifting the visor too see, and the shit condenses on your eyes. Nasty.

Deflate the tires that could help as well giving you more contact with the road.

Deflate the tires that could help as well giving you more contact with the road. DONT FUCKIN DO THIS!!! You'll wreck.. low tires give sketchy traction at best. I know, I went down once because of a low front tire. Inflate properly- whatever is suggested. I actually run HIGHER psi than normal. Never run low tire pressure

Never run low tire pressure I had handling issues on dry road with low front tire pressure as well, however i am not sure what tire pressure it was.
some Chinese scooters specs call for 2.1psi front i'd imagine having anywhere between 2.4-3.0 psi is fine.
I currently run close to 3psi and my contact path is bit small when i ride into the groove i.e. recessed part of the road surface that go along the road (left by car tire or truck) my scooter goes at angle i think this due to very small contact path.
this what i mean sometimes its small track left by tire of heavy car

Go with the tire's recommended pressure. Usually you want to be at least 25-30 psi, if not better. I don't know how your running 2-3 psi...

These numbers will not even support the scooters weight.
