Thanks everyone.
I decided to go with the Key West. The location of the shop/dealer had a lot to do with it. I think though, from what I've read it is also a decent reliable scooter. I wondered though, these have an oil injector but what happens when you goto a 70cc kit? Do you stop using the oil injector and mix the oil with the gas? Cause I imagine the injector won't be pumping enough oil for the bigger 'stuffs'.

I run oil pumps with my bbks and I haven't had a problem yet. But premix is probably best.

I don't 100% trust the TGB injection. Id run like 1% premix with a kitted engine to be safe and jet accordingly. That's what I'm doing with my current bike.
I've killed one TGB engine due to bearing failure and one due to apparent oil starvation. YMMV.

Was the bearing failure related to having a BBK?

Was the bearing failure related to having a BBK? Most likely due to being an old pizza delivery bike with who knows how many miles and lousy maintenance. It was taken apart and neglected when I got it. I threw a Malossi 47mm kit on I and got a thousand or so miles out of it before the flywheel side bearing got super noisy.

The TGB's in the 2006-2208 2008 range had a design flaw with the injectors that caused bearing failure. It was all about where it injected the oil to the crankcase. If I recall it had 2 points and the switched the intake so it had 1 point. I would think they have solved that by now.

Yeah, I saw the shiny, the rear disk brake, digital console and thought,"Why not?". I mean it has the same engine as the Key West and the big thing was the 13 inch wheels. On my Tao Tao I remember thinking how much better it would be with 12 inch wheels. Hitting bumps, especially if I was riding to the right letting traffic pass, was really sketchy cause the streets around here are bad. I'm hoping my purchase decision wasn't too bad. I'm not seeing many posts about this scoot on any English forums.

They look to be the RX50 rebranded as the Bullet: moto.zombdrive.com/tgb/2006-tgb-r50x.html. I have a couple of scoots with the 13" wheels and dual disc brakes. They are a great way to go. When you make it go fast you'll be happy to not be rolling on 10" wheels. Congrats I think if you you have a good reliable 50cc scooter now.

If I remember correctly the Bullet has a 11:1 vs 15:1 final drive like the Key West, easier to get speed out of when you start modifying the engine.

Cool. Do you happen to know the 'restrictors' on the Bullet? I've been reading conflicting information. Some say it is the CDI, variator and a brass ring (not sure where that is, maybe on the exhaust?). Some say replacing the CDI did nothing.
What other engine mods are there besides the 70cc? I am not sure I can would be able to port it.

You'll have to physically look at the exhaust and variator to see. I'd recommend a sport exhaust of some sort anyway just as the stock is restrictive in general.
If it's CDI restricted you will know it. It will hit a certain rpm and lose all it's oomph.
