Does anyone have one of these? Have you done any performance mods on it and how does it compare to the reliability of a Tao Tao?
Thanks

TGB Key West is a good 2t bike; it's Taiwanese. Engine is a Morini however, so the availability of modification is far less than that of the Minarelli. If I had my hands on one, I'd probably keep it stock, or close to it anyway.
This being said, I'd take one over a Tao Tao any day of the week.

Thanks. Do all TGB scooters have Maroni engines? I don't really like the Key West too much but the only local place that has 2t scoots carries TGB. I am just about done with my Tao Tao.

This will sound like a broken record, but if you want a quality 2t with all of the options (Minarelli), keep an eye out for a decent quality used Yamaha Zuma, 02-11. You won't go wrong there. Matt

Unfortunately there aren't any for sale that I can find close to me.
I wasn't thinking of doing many mods to it. Just a 70cc kit, a pipe, and maybe upsize carb and or jets. Then maybe some different weights in the CVT. I see they have a Maroni BBK and some pipes etc etc.

Keywest are cool nice light and decently quick but that Morini will be the sore thumb everytime ! Just the number for cool parts goes away when you go morini. Minarelli even a Chinese copy TAO TAO TANK made some Minarelli versions rare but they did most had 12" wheels on them . Matt gave you the tip ZUMA or Vino or Razz lol

I think i may be stuck with the Key West, Bintelli Beast, or the Genuine Roughhouse and the last two I have to travel a ways to get it.

TGBs are awesome. Swap the cdi for an unrestricted one, stock Buddy 50 works great, put a decent pipe on it and rip, the stock pipe sucks.
It takes real effort to get speed out of one because the Key West has a 15:1 frinal drive but you’ll hit 40 before they’ve left the light.
70cc kit won’t give you much more top end, the stock cylinders seem to have decent porting, but you’ll get even more acceleration.
If you’re buying new the Genuine Roughhouse is nice too, naked it and the Key West are almost identical except for the engine, I’d take a Buddy 50 first though. They’re so light and nimble.

Are there by chance any TGBs that come with a Minarelli? I have tried googling but oddly enough I can't find any detailed information. The shop closest to me carries and will special order TGB's the other shop with the Genuine and Bintelli Beast is a long ways away. The close shop is selling them for the same price as online and they are all set up.

Pipes aren't the same and it uses the QMB139 clutch. It's a little weird. They are good bikes however, but as it's not a real Minarelli, modifications can get iffy. Seriously, if you want to do this right, don't compromise. Just hold out for a Zuma, one will pop up before long. Matt

It's just my tao tao is not running ATM. I'm not sure if I can get it working and I need transportation. And it has to be classified as a 'moped'. Hopefully, I can get the Tao Tao running so I'll have more time. I think I'm getting warmer. I saw this thing for $800. The seller doesn't say the year but said it runs well. But still, not quite a Zuma
