Relevant to this build, making a monkey bike wheel rear hub from another old wheel.

How come you didn't use a Kymco hub?

How come you didn't use a Kymco hub? I have done that before. You have to bore out the wheel to fit monkey wheels or get dio specific wheels. The didi17 hubs are 4x137 This let's you bolt a monkey wheel directly.

What pattern are the monkey wheels? I would think just making an adapter would be less work and cost less than machining out a dio wheel. But I don't have a lathe or mill either

4x90 Didi is 4x137
You can make an adapter, but the space before the wheel hits the exhaust mount is already very small.
Short of buying an adapter this is the best way to do this. Plus this will be used on a 3.5J rim so it's already going to be tight.

I cant believe there is a 47mm difference in bolt patterns. I bought a set of monkey wheels a couple months ago. slow boat should be in usa. rims should be here in a week or so. I gotta figure out a front drum hub, and now make a rear hub?? dhooo

But they don't end up looking like monkey wheels when you are done, because the hub is like 50% of the wheel. with this you actually have mostly wheel face, instead of all hub.
