Through the generosity of 190mech, a dream of mine came true today. I have always wanted a 2 stroke street legal motorcycle, something like a Yamaha RD250. Today I got one, sorta Some of us that have been around this forum a while may remember a project 190mech worked on a few years ago. He spliced a Yamaha RD250 motor into a 1994 Kawasaki Ninja 250 frame, complete with a custom set of pipes of course! As sometimes happens, time passes and interest in a project fades, I guess it's sorta like been there, done that. The bike has spent the last several years covered up in his shed. My previous trip to meet 190mech a few weeks ago was a blast! What could be better than A couple gearheads speaking 2T's over lunch? At some point the Yamasaki project came up, I told 190mech I was interested in it if he ever decided to get rid of it. A few days after that visit 190mech messaged me offering up the bike, for FREE! Which brings us to where we are now, A short road trip and visit to pick up the bike today, and I made it home with the Yamasaki in the back of my van. It needs some work to be road worthy, but it is a runner and I rode it around the warehouse for a first ride. My only plans for now are new tires, tags and insurance. It needs some TLC but I plan to torment the tourists with it this summer regardless of what gets done to it. The fairings are included, but I like the naked look it has now. I think the handlebars will eventually need to be changed to a set that gets me a little more upright, I am not as young as I used to be.

The bike with the plane as the backdrop is pretty cool. You’ve got a piece of 190mech history. Those tourists better watch out.

Always thought that was a really cool bike. Glad to hear it's going to be on the road... and hoping we'll get to see some video of it in action someday.

Always nice to see bikes getting ridden. And members being generous is just icing on the cake.
