So today I picked up a pair of riding pants with the CE armor in the knees. Used. Icon Asphalt Technologies pants. The knee padding is too low. If I stand straight it’s over my shins. If I was taller it would be barely at my kneecaps. 🤷♂️ Weird. The Velcro extra pads inside the legs are shot. They are removable though so I think I will seek new ones from Icon. Should help with any road rash though when worn over my regular pants. This completes my set. Full face, jacket and pants. The locals were tired of me Naked Scooting. when you're crouched in a riding position do they not move up to where they're supposed to be?

No they stay more like shin guards which I think is odd.

This seems to be a common complaint for riding pants. I've spent quite a bit of time looking around and it comes up a lot that the knee armor is either in the wrong place or moves to the side when worn.
I've mentioned many times on the forum that I still don't own riding pants because every pair I've ordered doesn't fit. Figured it's just being 6'2" and 300lb. Talked to a friend that's around 5'9" and 160lb. He's got nice gear, but no riding pants because he said nothing fits him right. WTH. Overpants seem like they should be much easier to fit and are probably nicer in the winter. 90+ and muggy with anything over jeans... I dunno.

A good many of the accident photos I’ve seen here feature road rash. Denim jeans seem as helpful as hand lotion. The riding pants are bulky and the pads are wrong and dry rotted but it is my hope that the material will help me keep my skin cells.

I have some Kevlar jeans. You need to make sure they are full Kevlar lined, as cheaper ones are not. They are pretty thick, and warmer than regular jeans. Which is both good, and bad depending on temperature. The armour does move around as they are not a tight fit. But without a doubt will offer a lot more protection than normal jeans. My usual go to is the textile over trousers. Easy and quick to put on over normal jeans, while offering good protection.

I got my first ever riding jacket for Christmas this year. It is a BILT Techno mesh jacket. It arrived a month ago and it fit ok, so under the tree it went till Christmas. I seem to have gained around 15lbs back over Thanksgiving and Christmas, because the jacket is very snug now. Lol! I went for a ride today, the first in a long time. I really liked the way the jacket performs. Now I gotta get something to wear over my short pants when I ride. I imagine I look foolish in a full face helmet, riding jacket and short pants.

It's Murphy's law, the one body part not covered in armour. Is the one that gets the impact!

Asphalt doesn’t care how foolish you look. It’s always happy to greet you.

I just ordered a full face helmet after reading these. I'll admit I had the same thoughts 'its just a scooter' ' doesn't go fast enough to kill myself' now I'll look into some jacket at least, something to wear down here in HOT Florida. I would feel people are likely to make fun of someone fully geared up on a scooter. But I'm sure they never laid anything down before This is a nice kevlar jacket . Has a liner for cooler weather .

Knee pads sorta fit below the knee cause when you hit you don’t bonk straight down on your knee cap. Mine have all fit like that and believe it that they find their way to the right place when you smack.
Usually I’ve slid on my hip and side.

I hit an ice patch the other morning and went down going about 50. It was really cold, so I had on a lot of clothes. I wear these compression knee sleeves at work, and they ended up saving my knees. I'm fine. The winter gear saved me
