Hey Brent,
Are you boarding up your house? I figure you are probably going to get a pretty good blow there in Maryland. Did you feel the quake?

I didn't feel much of the quake. I was walking through the garage getting gas cans and the doors shook. My father was home and inside and he definitely felt it. Said stuff was shaking on the walls. My neighbor (the father from the mother's day thread) came over to see if our house shook too. I thought it was the wind, Dad thought he was having a seizure for a second, and my neighbor thought maybe it was a big truck going buy or a tornado. They agreed it felt like a tremor, but what would be the chance of that on the east coast? I'm not boarding up yet. My family is slow so if it gets to where we need to board up we'll wait till Lowes is sold out then go look for plywood. lol Our member lbo is from Fenwick Island, DE which is right next to OC, MD which I know is being evacuated. I think DE is a state of emergency.

Yeah, I have been walking around working or driving in a car during a few smaller quakes and didn't feel a thing. I've never seen a hurricane before. It's on my bucket list. I lived through a few tornadoes in Dallas when I was a kid. They are scary as hell cause the wind is howling and there's lightning striking all around you in rapid succession and you can hear stuff hitting the house. I cowered in the bath tub. :scared: At the very least you'll probably lose some roof shingles and the yard will be a mess after.

I've been through hurricanes or tropical storms here, but nothing that delivered any serious winds. Isabel was the worst flooding I remember here and screwed up some roads. Got pics somewhere I believe. I'll post a few if I can find them, just not sure if they're on the PC. It was interesting to see, but obviously it sucks if you are one of the folks getting your house flooded out or lose a bridge or road to your house. I have exactly 0 desire to be in a tornado or hurricane. I wouldn't mind a tremor like the last one just to actually feel it, but I don't want stuff to get tore up to do so. I could probably go put a quarter in the bed at some cheap motel and feel about the same thing. I think it's less risky just being in the quake though. :scared:

They're telling us to expect extended power outages, so if you don't see me for a bit you'll know why. I won't know what to do without getting on here 20x a day. lol At least they've downgraded to expecting 75-90MPH winds here. That's more than enough though. To whoever else is stuck in the crap, be safe.

We're all thinking about you and your family, bud. Looks like it will be long passing involving a lot of high water and over a days worth of powerful tropical winds. Waiting through all of that will seem endless, I'm sure.

Brent, we still have power at the moment; if it goes out, we have a big generator to keep the appliances and water pump going. Concerned about these 100+ year old trees on the property.

I don't know what I would do if i didn't have power for a week or more. If it lasts for more than a day I can see Brent madly hooking up an inverter to the Mustang's battery so he can use his computer cause he's got internet withdrawal.
Stay safe all.
