I've been semi-following Firestone Walker's Luponic Distortion series. I think it was #10 or so (??) that they featured Australia's Galaxy hops, which I have since decided is definitely my current fave and have been seeking that out in other beers (e.g., Clown Shoes has a really good Galaxy, but they are notoriously expensive). Proprietary as hops usually are, no one such as myself can legally grow galaxy, but even if you could, ausi soil is so different from the americas', and my suspicion is that it just wouldn't be the same anyway. A local brewery right down the road had a soft opening today. They may get me in trouble. Good high quality stuff brewed in an old meat processing farm. Come spring they plan field to tap brewing which I think is a stellar concept for my farm area I’m in. The owner offered us a tour of their setup, apparently I’m special! ^ nice.... came across Heritage Hill a couple weeks ago, before the arctic blast. Outside fires are cool. Any fires are cool.    They specialize in beer, but the small barrel bourbon was a nice touch |
