I will probably braze my mounts. I haven't welded in years. I will probably drop two triangular pieces straight down from the frame and bolt them to the engine. I do not know if I will use a cross piece. I will have to wait until I have a 150cc here to mock it up and clean away the 50cc mounts.

The part with the circle you are talking about is a typical 150cc engine mount bracket. It bolts to the motor holes, then to the frame. This motor had that. When I put that mount to my frame, The mount piece stuck out about an inch and a half on each side. My options were to cut the 150cc mount to fit, or modify the 50cc mount. The 50cc mount is a steel plate on each side with a cross bar on top. I added the steel so the 150cc engine mounted lower. Otherwise, that cross bar was with in front of the card air intake. The stainless tubing is between the motor mounts and on the right side. The piece on the right looks black in the pictures for some reason.

It was quite a surprise when I brought the engine and frame together. I didn't think I was going to have to modify as much as I did.

I see why the cross piece is required now. It is tough for me to visualize anything, never having even seen a 150 in the 'flesh'. My strokes completely wiped out the 'spacial relations' part of my brain.

My strokes completely wiped out the 'spacial relations' part of my brain. I wanted to keep the cross piece for a couple of reasone. 1. In case I wanted to go back to the 50cc 2 stroke long case motor (I will buy a new 2 stroke 50cc mount, if I go back). 2. I thought it may give the mount more stability, especially side to side. On first mock-up the cross bar went right in front of the carbs air intake when I put the engine up and ran some threaded rod through the 50cc engine mount and 150cc motor mount holes. I had to lower the engine on the mount to get the cross bar out of the way to fit the air box in place.

Frank, didja ever finish your 50>150 adaptation? Be interesting to see some pics on a post if you did. If a post was made... I missed it. tom
