When it comes to cars that's where the 60s and retro takes over for me! There is NOTHING to me like those 60s era cars, no matter where they're from. American, Japanese, European, they're all super cool!

BigJeff, If your not long legged, you'll like that scooter. The lower weight balance is nice, and the basic parts are easy to find. However, you'll discover that a valve adjustment requires a complete body panel and gas tank removal. No room otherwise to get the bolts out. Only thing I don't care for. That one looks like it has the larger tires? Mine are 3.5x10 .It also has the newer disigned fairings. That will eliminate the issues I had with my new exhaust not having room. Not sure how easy the body plastics will be to find if needed. The Joker body has been around for some time, so I can find parts all over, that one will be a little harder being a modernized design of the Joker clones. My scoots both have the short case engine, with the bigger tires that is probably the long case.

Yeah Goosey. That is a problem. I went to the scooter store and sat on it. It is real tight at the knees. I am 6'4". :\ Maybe if I rotate the handlebars up a bit or make a riser for the handlebars I would fit. Everything else feels ok. Just the swept back handlebars. It was raining so I could not take it for a spin. The shop owner said he would adjust the bars up if I wanted to test ride. We will see.
If not - what are the best 150cc scoots for tall people?

Sadly, you would also find the bars hit your knees when turning also. I am 5' 3/4" and these fit me perfectly. I don't know if the larger wheeled version is any higher...On the other hand, finding any other higher cc scooter is an issue for me.

I thought of that goosey. And you are right. The dealer talked oabout that and checked out a few ideas. I am thinking a 2" riser on the handlebars would bring it over my knees. I dunno. Maybe go for a different scoot - but I really love that one. They have great service and parts galore. That (Gorilla Motorworks Black Jack 150) bike is imported and parts warehoused locally. Me wants one....
That retro evo is nice. Any dealers in Tampa Bay area?

LOL, I've gotten 3 off the internet, 2 out of 3 good ones If you like the style, there aren't really any other body types with the rounded body parts like the Joker clones. A few retro's but sharper edges, or not all as heavy on the front fairings. I'm not fond of the flat fronts. If it's possible to put a riser on the handle bars that might work, or even replace the bars with something with higher arms. The way these are built in the front a change of bars wouldn't be hard to do, if you can find something. No other mods to the body or guage's. As long as the dealer's willing to try before you buy what the heck, right? My X rode on the passenger section of the seat, said that was fine, he's 6'2. That's how I knew about the knees.

Yeah - the dealer is a really cool guy. Been there a LONG time and is a people person. He handles nice stuff. There is a local company that imports the retro scoots from China and really goes over them. He has a contract with the factory in China to do it to build the scoots to his standards. And - he stock parts. It costs a few hundred more than internet ordering and getting a crate, but it is less of a gamble. Gorilla Motor Works is the company and they call the 150cc the Black Jack II. The dealer lets you ride it first - and they have demo bikes. www.gorillamotorworks.com/products/The dealer is Seminole scooter. Good people. www.seminolescooters.com/As far as the risers go - I would have to measure some stuff. But here is the type I was thinking. I love cutting and fabricating (ex aircraft sheet metal mechanic here) - and my neighbor is a certified welder. The control cables seem to have plenty of slack to go up a few inches... _OR_
