A neighbor had one of those 6X6 flotation wheel ATV vehicles back in the early 70's. It had a 2 stroke engine, 3 speed tranny (forward and reverse) and some kind of plastic body works. (it was not fiberglass) It had 2 levers that worked back and forth and worked something like zero turn mowers do I guess. Noisy and 2 stroke smoke. looked like a lot of fun, but I never did get to ride in it. It floated and could go into the water, but was pretty slow going in the water where wheels didn't touch ground. (we had a lake near where I lived as a child) It was called Amphicat.

It looks like the vehicle from a late 60's early 70's TV show that the characters in costumes rode around in. The name will come to me at 2:00 in the morning.
