A neighbor had one of those 6X6 flotation wheel ATV vehicles back in the early 70's. It had a 2 stroke engine, 3 speed tranny (forward and reverse) and some kind of plastic body works. (it was not fiberglass) It had 2 levers that worked back and forth and worked something like zero turn mowers do I guess. Noisy and 2 stroke smoke. looked like a lot of fun, but I never did get to ride in it. It floated and could go into the water, but was pretty slow going in the water where wheels didn't touch ground. (we had a lake near where I lived as a child) It was called Amphicat.

It looks like the vehicle from a late 60's early 70's TV show that the characters in costumes rode around in. The name will come to me at 2:00 in the morning. How about the chariot from "Lost in Space"?
That's what came to my mind.

Couldn't figure out why that first vehicle looked so familiar. Then I remembered the Snowcat from The Shining. Found one that's pretty similar. Almost looks like they just replaced the treads with wheels. Strange. See. A lifetime of mindlessly watching TV can be useful!

Those old cars are kind of dangerous to drive, not much crash protection but if one hits a KIA the KIA will be a pancake LOL

Maybe "All Things Great and Small" would rent it, or allow the owner a drive thru scenery shot.

did you get to look under the bonnet ? No I didn't want to detain the owner to long as he had just come out the doctors.

Africa twin I think chap confused me for a minute as he said just like my Vespa and went onto explain it was automatic with switching from various sports modes I think to gravel and maybe something else. The only wording I saw on it was Honda DCT

You can ride it as a scooter. Just twist the throttle. Or use gears manually. It has a duel clutch transmission, like a lot of cars now. So the next gear is already selected, making changes seamlessly.

Lot,s of country houses in cheshire U.K. the big ones are mostly trust/charity run affairs. This is impressive private residence grounds and stables ect seen while delivering to some very careful tradespeople working there. I didn't,t get the invite in and that's just half the house in the picture sneaked from the cab.
