I went looking for a thread for this scooter and found nothing so here it is. This was my first scooter, it belonged to my dead ex-wife. When she moved out she told me to sell it. I tried one friend and when she and a knowledgable person came to look at it he said it's a crap Chinese scooter you don't want it. She now rides a C3. I had a friend move in with me that was lets say between drivers liscenses so I got it running for her. She drove it about 500 miles in a 6 week period. After she left I decided to tinker with it. I put a cheap 70cc kit on it and a Silent pro exhaust and it would hit 45 GPS but scared the s**t out of me. The Silent Pro caused body damage so off it came and back to stock. It's still fast. When I got the first Vino and was looking it over I realized the Pink Scoot was a very close clone. When I pulled the cylinder on the Pink Scoot it had Yamaha markings on it. As Chinese scooters go its a pretty solid frame and engine just crap plastics. Here is my friends on the Pink Scoot. This engine is solid and pulled the 2 of them. The one driving is 6' tall and makes it look like a toy. When I first rode it to work I got looks, finally someone asked if I still had my license. Over the past few years I have collected far more interesting scooters and it kept getting pushed farther into the garage until it went to storage. Fast forward today I dug it out and drained the gas and cleaned the Dellorto clone I had put on it. I hit the starter button and it whirled and nothing. I hit it again and nothing. The starter gear on this has been crap so I just kicked it twice and it roared back to life. I put the seat on it and rode up and down my street with a big smile. This is a quick little scooter, I think I weigh more than it does. Tomorrow it will get a good cleaning and a little more tuning. I may go ahead and tag it so my housemate has a back up scooter. I had thoughts of a real BBK and the Yasuni 16 I have and make it a loud death scoot. It would definitely be a sleeper no one would expect it.

Yamaha markings? Is it a Vino case? Could be perhaps..
Tell your friend to get her feet on the floor board! I hate when an unknowingly passenger jumped on the back of any of my scoots and I have to show them that there is actually a spot for their feet. It’s going to hurt if we bend that corner to much. With bigger wheels there’s a possibility of them getting caught in those, it’s not like we’re wearing a set of Alpinestars every time you or your passenger jumps on.

I can imagine the looks you get riding this. I was taking my wife's scooter for an MOT years ago. It has big pink butterflies all over it. When I stopped for gas, the cashier said "thats and interesting scooter you have. "

I do get some interesting looks when I'm on it, especially when I pull away from cars at a stop light. I also ride with a Joe Rocket jacket and full face helmet so I look much bigger on it, the classic fat guy on a scooter. I've really done nothing to the CVT so I may play in there some to get it to give me even better take off.

I went ahead and tagged this scooter. I put it all back together and took it for a ride. Its fairly peppy, at lights it pulls up on the shocks a bit. The back shock is s**t but is adequate. I have a replacement but its just a little to long and interferes with the airbox. I opened the CVT and found I was running 4.5gram weights. I upped them to 5 grams and saw a minor difference. With only 1035km on it I never changed out the original belt: As you can see it was a Yamaha belt. I have some sort of teflon variator and the original clutch. The belt fits well on the variator but rides down just a but on the clutch. I looked at the starter clutch and put it back together but no luck one touch of the starter and it fails. Does anyone know where I can get a good starter clutch for a Minarelli? I would pull one off of one of my Vinos but it would be such a pain to get it out of storage. The front brake had a little catch in it so I went to bleed it. The ABS? valve on it was causing me some grief so I pullet it. The brakes are good and tight now, I might want to try some new shoes. Riding around town it was the least comfortable scoot I own. My knees were in my chest and I felt every pot hole. I would hate to spend more than 15 minutes on it. Though I was just looking at a new BBK and such things for it. we'll see.

I went to start this scoot to ride to work. I figured it had been a week and would take some choking and maybe starter fluid. First kick it started right up no choked just purred as it warmed up. I got the usual Barbie Dream Scooter comments at work. I bet her's doesn't start first kick:

Well it's dead again. I put a new air filter in and took it for a ride. It was running well when I came to a stop and it slowly died. I had the roll of shame down the hill to get home. I put it up on the lift and the float valve was stuck open and pouring gas out. Shut off the fuel valve and tapped it to close. Opened it up and the fuel had stopped but no luck on starting. It probably filled the crankcase and needs to be cleaned out. I'll look at it another day.

If you get tired of the current setup and want more power, consider a 90cc from an ATV. Swap in the gears from a short case 1E40QMB (not sure if yours are the same with a Yamaha stamped case) instead of the long ATV gears. Put a 19-21mm PHBG on it. Tune up the CVT. That alone should be pretty fun. If you want a sleeper that gets pretty nasty, then maybe get something like the Phongeer exhaust and keep durations on the low side like 180/120ish. It can pull hard at pretty low RPM and it's quiet enough at idle and looks basically stock so most people would never think much of it till you've got the wheel in the air. Prob not as quick or fast as the right 70 and the C16, but low RPM torque is quite fun with a small frame and can be very unassuming.

Thanks Brent, this scoot has as much as I want from it. It is so small and uncomfortable to ride and scary at speed. It handles like crap. I'd rather put the energy and money in the SR50 or even the Italjet Velo.
So I pulled the reeds and checked the crankcase and some fuel got into it. I cleaned it out and put it back together, cleaned carb played with the float valve and no start. I had compression, spark and fuel but no start. I did what I have always done with this scoot and took all of the back plastics off and walked away. Thats what always seems to fix it. Today it started up first kick and ran like a champ.
I am convinced that this scooter is haunted by my dead ex-wife. I was here scooter and she never wanted me to ride it. She's gone and the scooter is here continuing to make my life miserable.

HaHaHa we took our children to see the movie Abominable. In it two of the main characters "borrow" a pink scooter to chase after the Yeti and its looks exactly like yours.

So I got a new Stage 6 150CM choke cable and put it on. It works well so I put all of the plastics back on. Here is what it looks like mounted: I was hoping to mount the new starter clutch but there were issues and Partsforscooters sent me a new one.
