Project "Ube" Super Dio ZX (returning to the moped scene)

I had mopeds/scooters in highschool but shortly after graduating I got interested in dirtbikes and cars. Ended up selling everything moped related. Couple years ago a coworker mentioned he was looking to buy a moped so I looked on craigslist for him. I found this JDM imported Honda Super Dio Zx, which was way out of my coworkers price range. So I ended up buying it and Im back on the moped game. Alot of the parts I had 7-8 years ago are getting hard to find now.....

Anyway here is how she looked when I brought "Ube" (purple in filipino) home.

Here was my true love, the last bike I had before quiting mopeds. Iwish I never sold her... Honda SB50 Elite E also known as the honda Pal. I put a honda G-dash stem on it and honda metro front forks and brakes for the oldschool look. I didn't want disk brakes on it. Rear wheel was from a ruckus, 90/90 tire stretched on it. Also put JDM pal headset amd tail lights on it.

My dads zuma 125. I put a yoshimura exhaust, cvt parts, relocated turn signals and airfilter.

The Honda dio had a SYM DD50 motor in it so I bought an AF18 for it and transfered the polini corsa cylinder to it along with a 28mm keihin carb and cvt components . Installed a stage 6 manifold, found an old school DDX airbox, PG short pipe and gearing. Paonted the gold ZX wheels black and slammed the frontend.

It stayed lile this for a while until I bought another set of wheels. Lol I am a bit of a wheel whore... ncy hustler wheels fronts are 2.15" dio spec rear is 3" ruckus spec. I like the staggered drag racer look. Small front wheel bigger rear. Also bought a matching rpm floating rotor for the rpm caliper and painted the PG pipe black.

My goal with this bike isnt max speed. It does a GPS 65mph upright and 70mph when I tuck, good enough. But Im working on the spare motor to make it go a bit faster later. My main focus is just making it into a bike I always wanted to build with some of the older parts I couldn't have when I was in highschool. Pickup up an oldschool PG stainless pipe. Kitaco 120 km/h cluster and some FSN wheels.

Lol I tried to use my screen name from the other honda scooter forums but I couldnt. I go by Sum_Azn_Kid on most other forums. Ya it was heart breaking to find out how hard these parts are to source now. But surpisingly because of swap shop some Italian parts are more plentiful. I learned my lesson, I wont be selling this bike. Too much regret from parting ways with my 1988 Elite E....

Tried a Dio Af35 headset but they dont come with purple inners so I sold it to a friend. He put it to good use.








Also I didnt like the told color on the FSN mag wheels so I stripped it and had them polished. But theu couldn't polish the hubs

Bought some stuff on my trip to Japan last year. Also decided to set up my shed and pull out all my parts I had in boxes. Reminds me of the small repair ships in Japan.

Currently how the moped looks today. I ran the clear headlight for a while, but put the ZX yellow one back. Mounted the FSN wheels.  New low profile front tire, lowered the forks even more.












Bought another pipe, saving this for when I get the other motor running. Hoping for GPS 70mph sitting upright, compared to my current 62-65mph...







Added a rear shock riser since I want the pipe the match the side skirt angle better. And Ill be painting it black as usual.
