Key ignition is now a flip-switch. No more fussing with a screwdriver, haha.
I installed a new carburetor and she fired up INSTANTLY. Pretty neat how they come stock with a manual choke on the handlebars, but the wire harness has an electric enricher connection from the factory too! My new carb was able to plug in and function correctly. Throttle response is amazing, but I still cannot drive her. Bogs out at anything over half throttle. I've tried with/without the factory air box. Moved the needle clip from middle, to bottom, to top (top was horrible). Plug looks black, but idk how it was when I got it.
The ETON CDI is cut, both wires, for no restriction.
Here's a video I made yesterday:
Any ideas?

I was going to say MJ is possibly too large, but you said that the needle on the leanest position was the worst so maybe not.
Could it be that the carb is starving for fuel, bowl emptying? Check that fuel delivery is adequate through the petcock.

Check that fuel delivery is adequate through the petcock. I installed this HUGE filter to make sure it was feeding the carb good enough. I even checked the float to make sure it was filling the bowl. So weird. I thought MJ was too lean...

........... I thought MJ was too lean... Easy way to find out. Unplug the choke, allow it to cool and see what it does.

Yup, the choke is a 2T tuners friend.
It can be confusing sometimes determining whether you are rich or lean at a certain point.
Hook that cable choke up and you really got it made.

So I found out the whole fuel delivery issue was the fuel filter. Friday night I had installed a new fuel petcock and had the SAME ISSUE - no fuel getting to the carb. I pulled the fuel line off the carb, no flow. Pulled the line off the filter, gas flowed FAST. So for the time being I just installed a line from the petcock to the carb... the new petcock had a filter at least.
Fired up right away and drove like it was brand new. I mean, new variator, carb, fuel lines, petcock - it rides good. Except the throttle cable stuck wide open on the first pull, causing me to grab all the front brake I had and go skidding down the road... release the brake and slapped the kill switch. Reset the cable and all is fine, drove around like normal.
No rear brakes (the caliper is seized and the master cylinder is toast), the front brakes work great but the lever is broken off and only long enough for one finger. This made it kinda freaky when the cable stuck wide open haha!
I will fix the rear brakes next and replace the right side lever, then we can drive it around and see what kinda speeds we are working with.

Update!
Both brakes are good, great really. Been cruising around with top speeds of 40 (GPS says this stock speedometer is dead accurate).
Today I purchased a Tecnigas NextR pipe to find out it doesn't fit. So freaking pissed. I spent 2 hours with the worst dremmel ever getting the welds off the restrictor, pulling it out and then smoothing everything out. Popped it on the scoot and couldn't get both exhaust bolts in. Like 2mm off. I then noticed the expansion chamber was contacting the swingarm. DAMN!
No matter what I do I cannot mount this without modding something. Either I can bend the header pipe out so the chamber is further from the wheel or I drill/cut a whole in the swingarm to allow the chamber to somewhat sit in. I will not get rid of the swingarm/disc brakes. If I bend it out, it's not going to match the engine side bolts any better... and if I cut the swingarm it will weaken it severely.
Idk what to do now... sell it? Can't return it since I've cut the restrictor out and there's a few dings now. But, will I ever find a pipe that fits a Minarelli with a right side swingarm?

Here's how far off the exhaust bolts are Then see the chamber hitting the swingarm And the side mount not aligning

I have always just used the stock beamer exhausts on the ones I have worked through a kit on them and a variator jetted carb 45 mph . As far as what to do withe the next r Old Geek was looking for a pipe for his zuma build you are closer than me to get him one.

Most of the Eton's dont have the 'swingarms' as they have drum rear brakes,,You can slot the mount holes on the header flange with a chainsaw blade file to allow the pipe to index outward like this; The best way would be cut the headpipe around 10mm from the flange and re weld it once fitted..

I admit... I overlooked slotting the holes. Thanks for the input! And hell I could even weld the flange back on (ugly, but I can). Great tips, thanks!!

The side mounting flange doesn't really match up at all, probably just going to cut this one off and use the other... You can see the top mounting flange contacts the rear fender/rear brake hose mounting bolt and the expansion chamber is actually off of the swingarm. Zip ties for the test ride to work, I'll be drilling a hole in the swingarm to mount the pipe to it with a nut/bolt/spacer.
