The Taotao 50cc I have with the BBK had the absolute beat on by my son for about a year when I let him use it. It still runs great. I run it full bore most of the time when I drive it too. I have about 3,000 mi on the BBK.I crashed it too flipped right over me. It started right back up and I drove it home with a broken arm, bruised ribs and a broken toe. I can't say anything bad about the Taotao scooter. It's been reliable. I want to upgrade to a 150cc scooter. I do my own work on the scooters. Thanks for the input from all of you. I'm on a fixed budget so I need something very cheap, but dependable. I would love the Kymco or the Yamaha but they're way out of my price range. Genuine to. I think I would like a 2t also!!

II put my BBK in myself. 50mm piston, large valve head 23mm in 20mm ex, A9 cam. Started right up first try and ran beautiful. I also changed my final drive gear to 49/17. It's due for a rebuild. With about 3,000 mi on the BBK.I do ok with the mechanics but I want something I don't have to dig into constantly.

By the way dexameth that looks like a nice little scoot your on from what I can see of it. Is it a vespa? Is a 150cc 2 stroke faster than a 4 stroke 150cc? I'm just curious. I can't imagine driving a 170cc on a 50cc frame with 10" wheels. How fast is it? I thought the 10" tires were only rated for 62mph. It's a Stella, Vespa clone. 150cc two stroke, was a 177cc a couple times haha (melted the piston). But the tires depend on make/model - there's really crappy 10" tires and really nice 10's too. At first the scoot was a little squirrely at speeds but I got used to it and have traveled many miles at 60mph on her and it's fine. Windy days can be a pain but that's with any 2 wheeled vehicle.

My 50cc is scary doing 40. I don't like the way it handles with 10" tires and the turning radius sucks. I absolutely agree about the different quality tire you can get. I over inflate mine a little. It seems to handle better. I just wish the 150cc scoots had a bigger gas tank!! Driver around here don't like scooters on the road. The 50cc' are too dangerous. You definitely need to keep up with traffic around here.
