I need a 150cc scooter with a 50cc frame. I know taotao has the powermax 150cc on the 50cc frame. Is there any other companies that make these little gems for us short people? The powermax does 55+ mph. I have the need for speed so I'm looking for something with big kahunas!!!
Wow! The Kymco came with a 200cc on a 50cc frame? Do you know which models the Kymco and Piagio are? I want to know what to look for!!. I've been looking at used scoots and haven't come across anything of that nature. I'm short and I need a entry level 150cc. I'm used to my 83cc but not fast enough. The small 150 I should be safe on that!! I'm 63yrs old.
A Vespa ET4 or LX150 are the same frames as the 50cc a little heavier because of the 150 engine but they ride just like them. I believe the Piaggio Fly 150 I think uses the same frame as the 50. Don't expect better than 55mph out of the 150.
To many scooters to list, its embarrassing Everything I know about scooters I learned at 49ccScoot.com Everything you need to know is here:http://49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1234/directory-find-faster
I'm looking for something with the 50cc frame that's affordable. I'm on disability but I absolutely love scooting. The only thing I found that fit the bill was the Taotao powermax 150cc. It the ugliest scoot I've seen but its under $900 shipped. I can't find anything used. They are way overpriced for used scoots. Anybody have a used well maintained small 150cc for sale?
I second the Buddy 170i - fuel injected 170cc on 10" wheels and a small frame... WEEEEEEE
Scootie the funmachine: 93.4cc QMB139 Stroker ...and... Stella the 2005 Genuine Stella 150cc 2t (the $350 Craigslist find) ...and... Sonja the 2005 Genuine Stella 150cc 2t (the freebie, soon to be 177cc) ...and... Maddy the E-TON Matrix 70cc 2t street killer(another freebie) ...and... Hondo the 2010 Honda Elite 110
I wanted to see how the 12" wheels were. They say it handles much better, more like a motorcycle. I think the 50cc scoots are too dangerous. I hope it handles nice for some nice long scooty rides with the 150cc power to stay up with traffic. Any input about making that transition and how it worked out are very welcome. Thanks guys
By the way dexameth that looks like a nice little scoot your on from what I can see of it. Is it a vespa? Is a 150cc 2 stroke faster than a 4 stroke 150cc? I'm just curious. I can't imagine driving a 170cc on a 50cc frame with 10" wheels. How fast is it? I thought the 10" tires were only rated for 62mph.
Do most of the popular selling 150cc scooters come as 2t also? I like the Taotaos. What's cheap nice looking and small for 2t options. I'm not familiar with them and I'm short 5'5" and a very tight budget. Anyone?
How mechanically inclined are you ? If you buy one of offbrands you might have to do a lot of your own work to keep it on the road . Some shops refuse to work on the Tao Tao's so keep that in mind .
I would peruse Facebook or craiglist and look at the Japanese Brands first . Honda and Yamaha are top quality You will pay top dollar and when you decide to sell they are easy to sell. Next Up is the Taiwan Brands TGB ,Kymco ,Genuine these also have dealer support very good quality price will be less . The Taiwanese brands and Japanese brands have multiple suppliers for parts also.
