Thanks I'll let you know. Gotta get my truck fixed first. Than I can get the scoot. Probably and unfortunately a couple of months.

I have a technical question! My 50cc valves stock were .05 int and .06 ex. Why did my valve gap change to .004 int and.004 ex from installing my BBK? That's quite a difference. And I'm still looking for the scooter dude that installed the Airsal piston from STG? I'd like to know about performance changes?

Every manual I've seen from 49cc up to 170cc 139QMB/GY6 engines all call for .004" intake lash and .005" exhaust lash. You could get away with .005 with both, but I wouldn't go any tighter than that with the exhaust valve. I've ran the Airsal piston for a while. I think it was my first upgrade to my first BBK I did years ago. It was amazing, or so I thought haha! It was lighter, and taller but I had no way of dyno testing or anything but it felt better after the install. Could have been in my head, but I felt the upgrade was totally worth it.

Is there a mathematical solution to the Airsal piston valve gap?this taotao I have is a tough little scoot. It's been through hell and back 1p39qmb is a great motor. I want to put the Airsal piston in and give it to my son when I get my 150cc. I can't do the playroom thing I'm too old to mess around like that. My back and hips are too messed up. There must be another way. I texted STG and they said I should be ok with the .004 and .005 I didn't need to compensate, but I was Leary about that it didn't make sense.

Valve lash is only for heat expansion of the valves - I messaged you all this info. It doesn't matter what piston/cylinder/head you are using... but what matters is the aftermarket piston having the correct valve reliefs (which the Airsal does).
