These are lightweight 120 lbs or so
They have a restricted variator with a wedding band like the yamaha vino
The carb needs a upjet and stock exhaust is way restricted.
The oil pump has a weird cable set up that wont open all the way stock so 2 choices ziptie it wide open or premix ..

So a cheap build that will push you mid 40s
Run a better pipe yms v8 like parts for scooters has and up jet the carb next size up in tires and a better variator.

Breaking mid 50s and fighting to keep the front wheel on the ground .
Add Gears and a bbk like a Polini Corsa .

I haven’t had a chance to diagnose it yet, but I’m probably going to wait until spring to start building it. Will probably order parts and everything before then though.

I’m thinking of doing a budget street build for it. With my Zuma, I’ve basically bought all of the fanciest parts (lots of Polini, Stage6, etc.) I could afford within reason. For this, I’ll probably make it a reliable and streetable scoot, but with the cheapest options I can find, but maybe a little better than Aliexpress stuff. Be interesting to see how they compare.

Appreciate the tips. I was thinking a Corsa and right along the lines you’re talking for this. The restrictions are a little different than I’m familiar with. Weird that Yasuni and all of the other usual suspects don’t seem to make pipes for the AF18 platform?

They are not restrictions if you replace them .
I helped rebuild a Honda Elite not a ton of choices for upgrades .
That actually made it easier.
The ScooterSwap Shop Guys were really helpful with parts and advice
We put on a keli variator a polini corsa some upgears a V8 pipe on it and tied open the oil pump wide open .
Just buried the speedo Gps at 58 mph.
We were way overdriving the Brakes and suspension, I would have been better off strapping on a parachute to stop.

Yeah I know the swap shop guys are big Dio fans. There’s a pretty large group of Dio and Ruckus folks near me in Detroit that I’ll get in touch with too. They do some good work and have a good relationship with Scooter Tuning like me.
