Holy smokes. You're a lucky man. You can get that thing flying for nothing at all. You'll end up liking it more than the Zuma. That's one thing I've definitely noticed, the parts seem to be quite a bit cheaper for AF18 motors compared to Minarellis. Seems like there's less of a market too, which is contradictory usually.

The elite/ DIO has more support in the Asian markets due to its popularity in the Asian countries so companies like pg, kitaco, kn企画, taida are prominent with af motors. The minarelli platform (jog/ zuma etc) was more popular in Europe, so there's a lot of fancy high end European stuff for the minarelli bikes and not as much for the dio. Here in the states swap shop has a lot of stuff as well as scootertuning and Dynoscooter. You could also get ahold of VT cycles on Oahu, that guy knows his stuff and will hook you up, he has an ebay store too

Definitely seems like the Japanese are into Dios from what I see on the net. Looks like Scooter Tuning has some Taida stuff. Decdent brand? Some Naraku stuff too, which I believe had some parts from in the past and seemed decent as well. Scoot Swap Shop seems to be really into them as well. I've talked to the guy that does the videos on the phone a couple times and he's always been really cool. Their prices are a bit higher than others, but I don't mind supporting a good scoot business that's willing to help.

hppowdercoating is an AF16 nut. Hoping he’ll chime in. But a Polini Corsa cast iron BBK, bigger carb, aftermarket variator, and new gearing (depending) will have you going fast for not too much cash. The pipe is going to cost some cash, but it’s so worth it. Converting to a disk front end isn’t a bank breaker either. And it’s all bolt on stuff - no machining or grinding. I’ll second hitting Scooter Swap Shop for this. Brandon built his shop on AF16 engines. They even sell a pipe/BBK package. Scootertuning.ca has the parts as well if you have a good relationship with them.

I’m finding most parts between SSS Dyno, and ST and OEM stuff can still be had it seems, but I’m not seeing a very good selection of pipes anywhere. I’m the “pipe shootout” video on SSS YT channel they have a C16 for a Dio, which I cannot locate anywhere.
I don’t believe I’ve seen that member around, but would be nice to hear some more info.

Also, I’ll be making the four hour drive back home today and I’ll finally have a chance to put my hands on this thing myself! Only bummer is the work room (or laundry room lol) is currently occupied by my Zuma, so this thing will likely live outside until I move in a few months.

I find the dinning room the best place. It already has a table for a work bench and the parts make a very conversation inducing center piece.

Just got to take a look at it, although it's dark out. It turns over freely and feels like it has decent compression! Going to throw the battery on the charger and give the electric start a shot tomorrow. Rear wheel is very hard to spin, but does spin so hopefully it's just the brake that's locked up. Worse case I guess would be the gears, which will be replaced anyway. The front fairing is broken and pretty busted up. Of course it's the only $90 fairing part on Scoot Tuning and not available OEM anymore. I'll get some better pics tomorrow.
