Farmers not planting sounds foolhardy when food will be highly valuable this summer. If I remember right that sounds like 'cutting off your nose to spite your face' or some such idiocy Farmers around here are planting. There is no vaccine for this virus, therefore no herd immunity. At the moment it seems there is no immunity even when people get the disease. This is a strange outbreak.
BTW, Anyone hoping for a quick vaccine to cure us all should remember there is no vaccine yet for HIV, EBOLA, or many other viruses even though there is $$$$$ research going into them all the time. Things are looking better for a possible EBOLA vaccine... -Maybe...

No result yet Paul phoned and emailed HR today no responce so come Tuesday I will phone an extend my holiday.I know what they should do but getting anything done takes an age in a big PLC,my line manager is in his bunker (sorry I mean working from home) nice and safe, wild horses won,t get me back till I see infection control taken seriously.Much sadder my neighbour directly opposite me,I can watch his telly kinda close ,passed away with the covid19 he was 47 and fit.it has shocked our little suburban street. Geoff Yes so a little update ,phoned in this a..m. As per company rules so I still have a job."kinda guessed you would ring in" was not what I wanted to hear from the guy who wanted to sack me last month, but the CEO has my email address and has used it to assure me I am a key worker, nothing since? hope he,s safe. NYC, So in the shortage of PPE I was able to get KN95 masks. I gave some away to nurses and others, not sure if they will be acceptable for there work. There has been some flip flopping about it. I'm looking to sell some, I'm not a price gouger.
Please PM me I'm willing to ship.

I've read that some, not the majority, of the KN'S from China are bunk, but something is better than nothing. I got some doctors in the 'hood, maybe they can use them. Thanks!

So this saga goes on,I am in bunker mode, one shop a day and one dog walk on a route so I can dodge away from other people, things are very eerie streets empty but the shops have full shelves, just a few people "pushing" the rules.I would rant on about Lycra clad cyclists but it won,t stop them.
Geoff(shelves almost full? not one egg in the village)

Still seeing groups of people walking about here. The next door neighbours dad has been coming every day this week and been taking a different grandchild out each day.

I still see high numbers of people wearing masks incorrectly so that the bridge of the nose does not seal properly. What do they think those metal bands across the nose are for? I even see people wearing them upside down. It is really sad Then there are those Floriduh beaches opening up. Politicians bend to pressure from businesses and people. Everything will look OK for a while until the virus cases increase in a week or two and the death rate goes up a week after that. What is really really sad is to see the village idiots out with no masks carrying their assault rifles.

My father talked to one of his friends that is 80-something. They were talking about the usual stuff now, like TP, disinfectants, meat shortages, etc... His friend said he goes out everyday into Wal-Mart and other stores and that way he can catch that stuff when it's in stock. Then he said he goes into Lowe's once or twice a week too. My father said he asked him what he needed in there and he replied with "oh nothing, just looking around for something to do". Then he told my father that him and 4 other old guys that my father used to go to breakfast with still get together every weekday morning for coffee. He goes into another store a couple of times a week to talk to a friend that works there. This stuff hasn't slowed him down a bit.

It is people like Brent's father's friends and woodini that are still spreading the virus that are the real threat now. The virus is not gone. Yet places like Jacksonville Floriduh that open beaches to idiots are the ones that will spread it for a long time. I cannot believe this infantile "make me" attitude that some people have.
