Well I've had Kym for a while now. Since April 2019. Its a 2007 Kymco Agility 50. It's been threw hell and back. Took me from Delmar to Rehoboth Beach and back again almost everyday last spring, summer and fall. That's 70ish miles 5 days a week minimum. I bought her with just shy of 12,000kms and currently has over 27,279kms. I bought her bone stock for $300, needed a carb cleaning and a tuneup. And it didn't take me long to get bit by the scootin bug, Rode her stock till 14000km reading. Top speed was 38-40 tucked 35 I believe upright.
Then came the mods. First I installed a scooters to go Airsal 50mm (81cc true) high compression Kit that came with a "big valve" head (was 20/18.5 but had stock sized ports), Real Keihin 20mm CVK, an A9 cam, and 49/17 upgear. Also got a Scooters to go "race" pipe. Was a lot more powerful then stock, Well the spark plug hole stripped out the 3rd time I pulled the plug to check jetting. I bought another kit from a local shop, Scooter City, that was just a flat top 50mm kit that had a ported stock valved 50mm head. I used that head on top of the airsal kit and Got about 2000 miles(18000kms reading) til it let go. Was getting 48-50 tucked on its own, and 53-55 in the draft of a car. She was a screamer. Had it set up with 1k contra 2k clutch springs, an eBay vari and clutch kit and ran 6g sliders for the best economy. 5g rollers worked best for Acceleration. I averaged 75mpg rolling alomg between 45 and 50mph WFO everywhere.
After the airsal kit died( it spit out the wrist pin lock and the pin walked out) I put the flattop kit on with the ported head. This was the biggest waste of my effort, the 95 main ended up washing the rings out, I'm assuming it's because the flat top had shit for compression with a 50mm head. Well i straight dropped another flattop piston and ring set in, no hone nothing, and put a stock head from another 139qmb that had dual valve springs already( the kymco 139qmb had single springs) and rocked out and put about 6000 miles (where ever the odometer is at currently) until on my last day of work last winter, in December, I came home and shut her down and she won't and hasnt started since. 13,000kms(8100 miles) on 50mm (81cc) BBK on a STOCK Kymco crank, all bearings and cases.
This brings us up to today. If your following my other build thread,Becky the Baccio is having her demons exercised, which puts me in a place where I really need to have Kym back on the road.
I am taking a step backwards on this build from where it's at currently. I have ordered a 47mm bore kit from gy6store on eBay. I've also ordered a orange DC CDI to replace the busted adjustable one I had on it, and the stock Kymco on is limited at 8000 rpm, and that ain't gonna cut it. I'm going to reuse the 20mm CVK, but I'm gonna port match the intake. Have actually been thinking about porting the stock head and filling the emission hole which is currently blocked off. Gonna measure some radiator hose and see if I can use that and a piece of exhaust pipe (all automotive pieces) to adapt my stock desnorkaled airbox to the 20mm keihin.
Id like to see this bike run again. And DO 50 mph again. Wheelies would be fun but the only way Kym is lifting the front is if I lift it for her. It is a 4T after all.
