Hi folks! This is incredible. This is really a mystery. Everyone struggles to find a solution. I intend to purchase Peugeot Kisbee 50, 4T, fuel injection, Euro 4. I am from Slovakia and I found your forum by great coincidence. I have emailed to official office of Peugeot in Czech Rep. and Slovakia and he wrote me that Kisbee 4T inj. could not be derestricted. Then, one of the official dealers told me that derestriction on this model is done through removing some mechanical part in the variator. However, I do not trust him, because after I asked him through telephone to tell me this for sure, he hesitated a bit and just said that it had become more complex on this model. If anyone succeeds in this I oblige him to share. Welcome to the forum. Lots of manufacturers will tell you that their bikes can't be unrestricted. Part of Euro 4 was to make it harder to modify. Doesn't mean it can't.

As it has an ECU(I take it that it has?) I wonder if a simple 'remap' would do the trick?

If the bike is electronically limited then yes, reprogramming the ECU is a solution but I do not have the software or cables to connect through the OBD port. I found a few derestricted bikes for sale and I asked their owners and all have said that they have been derestricted by the dealer. I even called my local dealer who confirmed that it can be derestricted but requires a part from Peugeot but currently not available as they are currently in the middle of a takeover. I'm going to spend a bit more time with the bike this weekend and figure it out.

My typhoon is really complicated emissions systems. It's got an ECU controlled carb air injection. Malossi has just come up with a ECU that bypasses it. And raises the rev limit to 16,000 rpm. There is hope for the future.

I have also been told that the dealer cannot get any information about derestricting because of the importer going bust..........apparently a new importer has been appointed and should only be a matter of a week or so before they can find out how to do it? I would spend a few hours ringing around all the other Peugeot dealers as at least one of them must know how its done? But I imagine all would be reluctant to give out any information over the phone most likely!? It is a waiting game now..............

I'm glad to say I finally derestricted it! Got 45mph on the Speedo, 41.5 mph on the GPS. I'll make a YouTube video tomorrow and post a link to it. Happy days!

Great work on working out the restriction. We used to do a similar thing in the 90's to Japanese import bikes with the speedo. It would only measure Every other pickup. So never reached the 114mph limiter.

Brilliant News!! Well done! I'll be on it at some point this week.............thanks for posting. I'm wondering now if you could buy an aftermarket clutch bell with them already removed? Hmmmm..........

Great work and interesting info!
However, i'm thinking, if this is the trick, should be able to connect some sort of electronics after the sensor to modify the signal avoiding mechanical mods. Then it would be easily reversible too... and you could have a hidden button to turn the derestriction on/off.
Anybody here who can measure the signal with oscilloscope, with rear weel spinning in the air, on a non-modified injection Kisbee? With that info, i could probably create this "electronics" i'm talking about.
EDIT: Otherwise, might be able to dig up a datasheet on that sensor and make an educated guess on the signal, without measuring it

I have now got the kisbee working properly! It seems the distance from the sensor to the magnets is quite critical to it working correctly! Took me 6 attempts to get it right......I'm think I may elongate the hole so I can pop the 2nd screw back in and hold it properly in place as If it moves even the slightest bit It won't work!! I didn't go too far on it but had it registering 64kph before I ran out of road!!

Would be a good idea if you could get a second bolt to secure it. It's great it's got full speed now.
