Hi folks. I'm the owner of a Peugeot Kisbee RS 2018 with fuel injection. Does anyone here knows how to derestrict this model? The previous models were quite simple to derestrict but everything looks different in terms of cabling and electronics on this one. Help is much appreciated.

That CDI box is probably made for the older version with carburettor. So far, I haven't found any mods/parts for the 2018+ models with fuel injection. An updated workshop manual could also help.

I'm not so sure about that. I have only had a quick glance under the seat of the fuel injected version, and from what i could tell, it is not mounted in the same place, and it looks larger on 2018+. On top of that, the cable colors are not the same. For example, that blue cable from the original CDI on carburetted Kisbee (where you can hook it up to constant voltage to derestrict) seems to not be there anymore. There are also two cables with a white connector coming out from the drive belt side of the engine as opposed to one (the blue wire) on carburetted.
I suspect that they have done some trickery and altered how they restrict these 2018+ models, given they probably have much more sofisticated engine management, more sensors, and probably more advanced software running.

I guess the only way to know for sure is look.
If you look at listings for the aerox. After 2013 it's a different bike. All the engine is the same. Even though most listings say it's not.
I know my typhoon is the same as before the Euro 4. But for Euro 4 it's so much more complicated. Same engine, but CDI controlled carb, and extra air box even.

Am gonna follow this as I have just bought a 2019 streetzone 4t and as it stands it looks like I've bought something that cant be derestricted!! I cant find anything to help online and the dealer said that it cant be done!! ugh.....

Have just been messaging a really helpful chap from Peugeot UK and he informs me the restriction is in the transmission!? Unfortunately he wont tell me exactly how to do it in case I do it wrongly and try to sue him! bugger...….but also says it's not in the cdi!
He mentioned needing a grinder to do it?

I know my Piaggio has the variator restriction ring welded to the boss. Have you looked for a restriction? If it needs a grinder, it's not electronic restriction.

However, personally, I'm skeptical about this. The ECU must know "where" the engine is at all times and if this is used for that too, you will end up with big problems. I would try to get a workshop manual with a wiring diagram. That seems to be hard to find right now though. The next option would be to connect an oscilloscope (maybe one could get away with a simple voltmeter too) and start measuring things when the engine is running. After finding out IF there is something isolated (not affecting other things) limiting the speed electronically, figure out how to modify that signal to fool the ECU. Unfortunately (or fortunately!), I don't own the fuel injected version myself. If I did, I would be looking into this for sure. |

Hi,
I'm also trying to derestrict my friend's 2018 Kisbee with fuel injection. I tried following the Dutch guide, which made perfect sense to me but still didn't work. On the clutch bell there are 4 hall effect sensors, which is similar to the sensor on a fly wheel. I ground off 2 opposing sensors, meaning that the ECU should only read half the actual speed, in theory. However, put the bike back together and still limited to 30mph. Speedo works fine. Any other suggestions?

Hi folks! This is incredible. This is really a mystery. Everyone struggles to find a solution. I intend to purchase Peugeot Kisbee 50, 4T, fuel injection, Euro 4. I am from Slovakia and I found your forum by great coincidence. I have emailed to official office of Peugeot in Czech Rep. and Slovakia and he wrote me that Kisbee 4T inj. could not be derestricted. Then, one of the official dealers told me that derestriction on this model is done through removing some mechanical part in the variator. However, I do not trust him, because after I asked him through telephone to tell me this for sure, he hesitated a bit and just said that it had become more complex on this model. If anyone succeeds in this I oblige him to share.  |
