Hey folks I have a chance to buy a new Katana for a good deal. 2k less than list. I love the old early 80's ones, especially the tank and fairing. The new ones have the '04-'08 K5 GSXR 1000cc engine. Arguably one of Suzuki's best. I also like the futuristic rear of it. 150 HP is calling my name. What's your opinion? It's calling my name guys. "Come to me Rocket, come to me" LMAO

I've gotten myself into enough wrecks to know that's not a street rod for me. But hey, your call. Where would you ride it?

Well it almost sits up like a scooter. A better windscreen and who knows. Good point. I went to the shop to look at a used Yamaha Xmax 300. Nice scooter btw. It'll do 85-90 mph and that's good enough for here. But it wants me Fuzzy LOLOL

I thought you were on about the Katana scooter, I have not rode the katana. But have riden the GSX1000 it's based on a couple times. Liked the brakes. It's quite comfortable too. A lot of reviews said they had a snatchy throttle/injection. I thought it was fine. Very wide power band. Takes off quite well, and plenty fast enough. It doesn't have that vicious power band like a full on sports bike. Which for the road is good. Might be engineered in, or might be just the extra weight. It's not at all intimidating to ride. Give it a try.

My guess is that we'll be seeing pics of YOUR 2020 Katana real soon Chuck. The XMAX is a nice scoot. I've got it's 500cc brother, the TMAX, but they aren't going to make you happy if you're waiting to feel that pull when you twist the throttle. You're talking about family sedan level acceleration with them and even then the family sedan is gonna start pulling away once you get near top speed. I'm always irritated that I can't go over 100, but that's kinda why I think scoots are good for people like me that have no sense.

Well I went and rode both a 300 XMax and the Katana. I gotta say I like them both for different reasons of course. The XMax is a solid scoot. Very comforable, very good brakes, and tons of storage. You can get two helmets and an overnight bag in there. Maybe a rain suit. From 0-50 it moves out with authority. After that it still does pretty well. I taped my phone to it and used a gps app. 75 mph wasn't a problem and she had more.. The speedo was 6 mph off at that point, but every motorcycle I've ever ridden was off too. The suspension isn't bad, but there are better. No adjustments, but Ohlin makes an upgrade. Wind protection could be better, but I'm 6'3". Givi makes a taller windscreen. All and all I could be happy with it. Yeah GT but you can't have one in the USA . Oh Aerox, dude. What an awesome Motorcycle the New Katana is. I here you about the throttle. My SV 650 is a little snatchey from off idle, but I just slip the clutch, and it isn't bad. The new Katana is better. Not bad at all. What a great bike. I like everything about it. WTG Suzuki. The torque curve seems absolutely flat and pulls in any gear or rpm. Putts around at forty sweet as sugar. Whack the throttle and Mr. Hyde appears. Your eyeballs recede into your skull. Brakes, suspension, handling, comfort, all are good. Even though I'd like the Katana, I think I'll trade for the Max. No money and my SV for a 2019 Xmax, if they take the offer. We shall see. If not Katana.

I love the SV, it's like a bicycle to throw around. So light, and one of the best engines in any bike. I was thinking about one in 2017 when the new model came out. Just so many years of riding four cylinder bikes. I would of really missed the top end rush.
