guys ive tried everything, you think it might be tachometer/dashboard thats limiting the rpm? im gonna try and disconnect as much as i can tomorrow, just leave the cdi and thats it.

tried disconnecting the dash, still wont go 1 over 37mph. pinpoint accuracy, im starting to lose hope, i dont know what kind of restriction it is, i think its way too precise for it to be mechnical, the rpms literally just come at a dead STOP if you revv it on a kickstand, ive tried a different variator aswell, i dont know what im really supposed to do. different carbs, diff exhasts, different cdi, different piston... ive checked for wires in the transmission and theres nothing. ive tried different belts and nothing. Theres nothing on the internet even.
edit:on the kickstand or driving, if you get to 37mph or 7k rpm, you can drop the throttle to 5/8 and it will be quieter but the rpms and speed remain the game, then you give full throttle again and the rpms stay the same but it becomes louder but the speed stays the same.

It must be electronically limited some how. What unlimited CDI did you buy?

It must be electronically limited some how. What unlimited CDI did you buy? just random ones from different scooter that look like this it doesnt say they are unrestricted but they work above 7-8k rpm on other bikes. idk whats up anymore.

im pretty sure its an rpm limit, theres no way it can read the rear wheels speed, for sensors ive looked everywhere, plus on a kickstand it revs to 7k before the rear wheel can go up to 60kmph anyway, theres travel left on both stock variator and sports variator so unless i fix the 7k rpm limit it doesnt matter im throwing money at buying malossi garbage.

Have you taken the CVT cover, and the clutch off to look for a sensor? Everything I could find said it's restricted in the CVT.

The small raised area is what the sensor reads from. Do you mean the raised area on TOP of the clutch bell? Could you highlight the picture, and how would a sensor read from that? Is it under the raised area?

Yes on the top. It would be a magnet. The sensor would read from that. In the same way a Speedo or stator does.

I found this article. It's a boation scooter with a pink wire going to cdi. That pink wire is what triggers the cdi to retard timing at the factory set speed. Perhaps you have this wire too? Here is the article. scootdawg.proboards.com/thread/45042/pink-wireBadumts123 can you take some pictures of you're scooter? Some photos of the clutch bell , variator ,inside of the cvt cover , cdi and wires?

I think the pink wire is only on the four stroke. 😉
