Once welded, it should be plenty strong enough.

Good news and bad news.
Bad news is the original welder buddy of mine is too busy with his main business. Its a bummer because hes the real deal, I know he has the skills. He did welding for the Apollo missions and the Lunar Lander. The dude has got certifications up the wazoo. His office walls are essentially plastered with NASA plaques and welding certifications. His main business picked up and squeezing in a job for $50 just doesnt make sense.
Good news is I found a great replacement. A new account I just signed up at work is a motorcycle and powersports specialist. He, when I pulled up to his garage, was TIG welding on a Honda XR600 frame. He apparently was repairing a small crack in the subframe. After we did our paperwork I asked him if he would take my job. I showed him the photos and he said it wouldnt be an issue and should be cheap because of all the prepwork I already did. Im dropping the frame off tomorrow during my lunch.

For a minute there I thought you were going to say. "Good news, Brent has a TIG welder."

For a minute there I thought you were going to say. "Good news, Brent has a TIG welder." After watching his SSR video with the exhaust fabrication it wouldnt surprise me in the least if he opens his next video with a welders cap, a TIG torch in hand and a few bottles of Argon behind him.

That look all right!
Those two wee holes on the right side? I’d be right tempted to plug them up with some Steel Stik metal putty.

My goal for today is to get the frame stripped and coated with POR15

Looks plenty strong. Once it's painted, you would never know it wasn't always like that. 👍

A short update. I have a line on a Dio Baja here in the states. Things may get interesting (see, expensive) in the next few days.
