floor rails came off today, still trying to figure out how to remove the foot brake lever though. All the suggestions have been I gotta remove the floor rails to access the pin to push out to remove it. But I'm not seeing how I get to the pin.
Is the VNA foot brake different than all the others or am I just not doing it right?
Ordering the fork nut tool and castle nut tool tomorrow so I can drop the fork and get the clutch out hopefully (there's a lot of rust bits in there). Excited to get the forks out so I can start to clean up the frame finally. Been slow going otherwise as there's nothing else to do till I get the fork removed.

Got the cylinder and piston removed finally! Took hours and hammers, chisels, drills, swearing and probably other stuff but off they came in a lot of pieces. Crank is still seized though.

Floor rails and the fork tool will be here tomorrow so I can get to work on removing the fork finally. Wondering how hard that's gonna be, that bottom nut is on there super tight. Got the top one off with a hammer and screwdriver but the bottom one won't budge with that method.

Dude, you need to buy a decent welder and learn how to use it well!A TIG machine would be ideal, will need to get Argon gas too..But an Oxy/Acetylene torch setup works wonderful too, yeah its old school, but for me it is my main home weld, braze, heat, cut tool and still love it for 50 years now...

I know! I have a friend who's a welding instructor and once the virus restrictions are loosened up here he's gonna teach me how. Would be easier and nice to know how already though. Side issue is no room in the shop for it right now anyways. Renting a dumpster for a massive clean out soon so hopefully I'll have room in a few months. I currently have enough space for the scooter and a 1 foot path way on one side to work on it. If I need to work on the other side I gotta move the whole thing over and climb over to the other side lol it's not pretty.

also I checked the frame for straightness and squareness and it's all good so the crash damage isn't as concerning.

new engine should be here on Saturday so I'll get to clean another engine, again. Just going to start her up and make sure she runs well then clean and install. The real fun part is going to be the electrical work. I'm probably going to have to make my own wiring harness from scratch? Or I could I guess get a P series harness and just remove the turn signal wiring and such that I don't need? Gonna need cables too.
YAY...

I got that off, it had some piece of metal attached to it so I had to grind that off then it was a 14mm bolt.

Piston and cylinder look OK,hand hone and new rings should get some more miles from them..Do have a head to cyl leak, might try lapping them for a better seal..

Is it the same as putting a sealant there?
