It's funny going in the petrol station. People give you funny looks, when you have filled it up for £5. 😂

Hi guys! Been doing some riding in this nice weather we have had here lately. To my surprise the bike has been riding pretty well spot on from my initial tune I thought I’d need to adjust the main jet it feels a little rich as you first pull away WOT is great no probs there had a 52mph gps. open to views and advice Here’s what I have looked at so far I checked the needle hight, I didn’t change this it’s how it was after stripping the old motoforce engine down from the previous owner of the engine I then checked the head nut torque and pulled the plug what’s opinions on the plug? It’s running a 88 polini main jet I have a genuine 90minarelli jet I could use?

I noticed some of the TB1184 on the reeds Witch is strange it had plenty of time to cure any way i resealed it with two new card gaskets with a thin coat of TB1215

That looks rich. I would try moving the needle clip up a notch. I found in my vertical Minarelli, reed valve gaskets are more prone to leaking. I think it's because fuel can sit there. With the horizontal. The fuel drains down.

So when moving the needle clip from one position to the next, up or down, does it make a dramatic change in the lean/rich condition?

Your plug looks mildly rich If it feels good at wide open dont go up Better a notch Rich then Lean
Dial in the needle Just small changes from rich to lean as you go up a clip Just go one notch at a time it will gradually have better or get worse response revving it up from 1/4 throttle to wide open If it feels better go up another notch till it either worsens or feels the same as the last clip position . Take the best feeling position if 2 are the same take the lower clip(richer)one for safety .

Ok it’s all still apart in the garage so I’m going to have ago later thanks for the tips!. yes it feels really nice WOT and a tad like it’s over fuelling as you first pull away ? So we are saying maybe leave the needle as is if it’s good at WOT and the plugs not to bad just a little rich. I have a video I can post so you guys can hear her with the needle as it is ? That be Any help ?

Leave the main jet as it is. It feels fine on full throttle. The needle controls the lower end jetting. Like Zino said, move it up one notch and see how it is. It will make it leaner at the bottom. If better try one more notch. If not better, go back to the previous.

I got confused when he said a “notch” I thought he was Referring to the needle clip notches as you said then I will experiment with the needle clip
