maybe kat was right bad connections at the cdi plugs.... i had the cdi box off but i went and plugged it back in the picked into the orange wire from the key to check it again. It had 13.5 on it with the battery charger on it, i dont recall seeing that much this AM. anyway when i saw that i spun it over and heard the plug sparking (it was hanging below plugged into the wire) It will run if i shoot starting fluid in it but when thats depleted it dies. it has oil and gas in the tanks new fuel line and filter. does the sensor in the oil tank kill spark when it trips or does it just turn a light on? by spark i mean good spark too it shocked the piss outta me

by spark i mean good spark too it shocked the piss outta me So that's how you determine good and bad spark!?! Careful using this method if you have a heart condition, pacemaker, or a lack of Depends.

A 2 stroke carb is easier than the CV stuff on the 4Ts. Check the float height and make sure it's clean. Check operation of the petcock, same deal as the 4T there.
Intermittent spark will probably be a PITA. Loose wires, kill switch problem, plug cap/wire getting loose, air gap...

Jut saw PM, speedy ! *w00t* Very cool ! Glad this might have worked for you. :thumb: My Beamer with manual choke loads up too too easy. It usually--98%-- starts one or two kicks. If it goes into 4 kicks, gets real "iffy", if more than that, yer pushing ! My routine is 1/3 choke, use electric starter or kick twice. If it goes more than that, its probably loaded up. If it loads up, pull plug, hours to dry out. It isnt going to start. I say pull plug, let it dry over nite. If you weren't getting spark, but were getting gas, there is a huge probability its swimming in fuel. In the morning, a clean plug and dry bottom end will be a better indicator. :zap2: Good luck and keep us posted

Float issue or vacuum/fuel system problem. Perhaps you've got a line in the wrong spot? Looking at the image below, the nipple to the left of the idle screw labeled is the oil line from the pump. The nipple sticking straight up on the manifold side of the carb is a vacuum source.

lines are connected to the correct ports. float bowl is empty, no gas comes out only a little oil.

You're gonna need to pull the carb off and check it out if you've already verified fuel makes it all the way to the carb. You could try tapping the bowl with something, but if it's sticking it should still be taken apart and cleaned.

Its been sitting since just before Hurricane Irene so the carb is probably full of crap.
