so i have the scrappy dog intake plenum that comes with the larger fiberglass reed valves and i want to install it but the opening in my crank case is too small. the phillips screws on the reeds on one side hit. do you think it would fix the problem if i made a spacer out of the old cage like 90vert?

If it's really close, it might get you just enough to clear. Here's the block you prob have with a spacer made of the stocker.

yikes, too close to call. i might have to go for it though, the thing is that if you blow into the valve on the stock it makes the duck noise and air flows freely, although when blowing into the fiberglass not much air passes through and it just hisses by, the pressure from blowin dosent open them up as easily.. would this be a problem or it should be stiffer?

It's probably normal, but to be honest I've never tried to use my reeds as a duck call. lol

I ended up dremeling out my intake about 1mm larger to fit those reeds in. I'm with JM on them though. Anytime I try them, they never work right. You're better off with stock reeds over those.

you ever see what a set of stock steel reeds will do to a piston when they go kerchunk not pretty
carbon fiber is the way to go

haha got it!!!! so simple, you just take out the screws, slip the locknut off, then screw em back in, then install the reeds. the clearance is so small that there would be no way for the screw to back out and go into the case, and when you put em back in you just tighten it up nicely. there working well for me. feels "more responsive" im okay with it. and i goot my mega size carb to work! :scoot2:
