Whenever I installed the new jug and piston I just installed it where it was currently resting. I saw no marks to line for TDC or BDC, and I was under the impression that this step wasn't necessary on a 2t. Is this correct?

The best way to check compression is to use the kick start with the throttle open. Another tip is that the HF Pittsburgh testers do not give you an accurate reading on a scooter. The best I ever got was 30 psi yet the engine would start and run fine.

Your correct. No valves on a two stroke, so doesn't need to be set at TDC.

I still can't figure out why the flywheel is turning backwards. What's to happen when I get it running,I'll be riding it in reverse everywhere? This is the first two stroke I've worked on and I'm becoming very irritated. Many thanks for your involvement in helping Hang in there. We all have been irritated the first time we worked on our first 2 stroke.

Hello to all,
I'm trying to get my D1E41QMB Qingqi 50cc running again. I tore everything apart after the engine shut off from lack of oil. After everything was taken off I'd decided to just go with premix. I broke the jug on accident and I had alot of trouble getting the new piston into the new jog. Turns out it's hanging up in the crankcase. Any quick answers? I've provided a video to further illustrate
Many, many thanks
What do you mean by, "i broke the jug on accident"? When you say you had trouble getting the new piston into the jug, did you damage/break the piston ring(s)?

It didn't happen by me trying to force it onto the piston. I examined the rings and they appeared to be in working condition

Apparently a 2t motor that switches direction is not a phenomenon or supernatural. But on this particular scooter which has no CDI, no TDC, or any ignition timing that I can see, I can't figure out how it suddenly started going in reverse

I have seen it before when the ignition timing is out. But unless the pick up has moved and come loose, it seems unlikely.

Ignition timing wouldn’t explain backwards rotation of the starter motor.

That's when it's actually running. Not just turning over.
