nice work rt if you dont have heavier rollers cut six equal sized pieces of alumuninum folded up inside each roller. I have stuffed over a gram extra in each roller that way . That will give you an idea how much heavier you need to go .

You got temp gauge? You got tachometer? Yessir I do! I always attach a thermocouple and a tach lead to every build, that way it's always set up and I just plug in the reader. The leads for the cheapie runleader that I use are only 15 bucks. Comes in handy to just have everything set up for plug and play. Does tach/temp and hours. I know some folks aren't huge fans of the runleader, but that thing has yet to fail me.

better than nothing. main thing you can monitor for off throttle heat spikes.

aeroxbud For the win, sir! I was kicking some ideas around, but those are much better than what I was thinking. 👍

Interesting find that I forgot to post earlier. Seems one of my reeds was chipped. Not sure when or how that happened. I did notice that the old engine was running a little hotter by about 10 to 20 degrees. Chalked it up to it being warmer weather. Also noticed that starting became a bit more difficult over time. These were the Malossi supplied reeds that came with cylinder. A little surprised that they started chipping so soon since I installed them in December. Maybe because it's more a performance part for short runs?

Nice little 50km ride around town today. Just cruising nice and easy to get everything broken in. Lotta power in this little bike now. Temps were nice and stable between 250 and 280. Never went much faster than 40 since everything is brand new. I can say that hills and wind will not ever be a problem for the RT again.
She is still a tad rich on the pilot. Am currently at 27.5 but the air screw is all out, so need to drop to 25. Slight backfire when coming to a quick stop, so definitely need to adjust down. Dropped main to 105 and she seems nice and happy.
Have to get the transmission sorted out for lower revs on this motor. Am on stock spring and switched out Polini yellow for grays. Engine seemed a bit happier with that change. Heavier rollers should be in Monday, so that should also help. She doesn't seem to like going too far above 8k, but very happy between 6 and 8.
Gear ratio is stock for an RT50, somewhere around 11.0769. Don't think I'm gonna fiddle with that too much if I can avoid it, but am open to suggestions.

So I dropped some 9g weights into the variator, and man... She smoothed right out. Revs are between 6 and 8 across the board. Hit 40 7200-7300 with plenty of juice left. Laid off the throttle a bit and she hangs out in the high 6k range. I am not the least bit mad about it.
I dropped the pilot to 25 and she seems happy there too. Got about 1 3/4 turns out and she just sits there and purrs. Maybe the odd stumble here and there, but we are definitely close. Idles between 1400 and 1550rpm. All adjustments have been air screw only. Haven't touched the idle screw at all.
Still using stock carb. Not yet keen on the PWK that I have just yet. Just wanna do a bit more research before I pull things back apart.
So far am very pleasantly surprised. She has a bit more vibration to her than the 70cc Malossi, but since we're up by 33cc, I imagine she would. The compression is great. Am going kick only right now and I barely have to shove the kicker to fire up.
I think I am at a stopping point for the moment. The spot where I work on my bikes has been sold and I need to move my stuff and bikes to a new space. The Adly is not perfect but she's rideable right now.

Lol. Yeah that first thing I did. I saw Brent's video about forgetting gear oil.

Other than that V8 on the pipe. This thing looks damn close to stock.
what model of Adly is your bike? I want one of those so i can make it look like the old school Yamaha YSR or the Honda NSR.

repherence2 Adly RT-50. They stopped importing, but you can find a used one for pretty cheap. There are older models from the mid 2000s as well as the RT-90. The older models have the banana pipe.
